Boots is now available in Singapore!

Boots. I have already heard of this name even before I went over to UK. Some of the range and amount of brands they carries are not commonly found in Singapore. But now, this UK’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer will now open a dedicated area within Guardian.

The first place that introduced Boots in Singapore was the Guardian flagship store in Ngee Ann City (since 19 October 2013). With effect from 1 Dec 2013, more locations will be introducing boots as well.

You can find them at Great World City, Parkway Parade, Suntec City, Paragon, Vivo City, Nex, Jem and Tanglin Mall.

Boots will offer the popular and much-loved brands including No7 skincare and cosmetics, Botanics, Champneys, Mark Hill, Boots Dermocare and Boots Extracts. Their beauty advisors will also be available to help answer your quires about the brand and products.

Among the items in the picture above, No7 cosmetics and Boots Soltan Once Suncare Lotion are my favorites. You know I love anything that has to do with lip color and sun care.

You can now save the trouble of asking your friends to buy these brands back from UK for you or shopping online for them. Boots just made it easier for you!

For more information on Boots please visit Bootsโ€™ dedicated Singapore website www.sg.boots.com.

Collection Cosmetics is now in Singapore!

I really like exploring make ups and will never hesitate to review or try on new makeups. So just few days ago, I went to the media launch of Collection. This is one of the top make up brands in the UK and now, it is finally available in Singapore!!

They had so many dazzling make ups and lip stains that totally made me go gah gah. I am really a sucker for lip stains.

However, the first range which caught my eye yesterday was these glittery colourful eyeliners. I could feel parties and christmas in them. lol.

You can also dab some onto your fingers and apply them like some glittery eye shadows.

Eyeshadows. Can I just have all of them please? Different palette can create different looks. Totally digging the first 2 on the left.

And now, to my favourite lip stains!

This is the lip gloss series which I applied on that night. I had a pinkish base (from one of their lipstick as well) and top it off with the first lip gloss on the left to create a wet and pouty look.

This series caught my attention because it comes with a mirror at the side so you can actually apply it anywhere, anytime, conveniently. You can save the hassle of looking for a toilet just to re-apply the lip colour.

Swatches in order as seen in the picture above. I like the 3rd from the left and 2nd from the right! As you can see, I love reddish tones more ๐Ÿ™‚

One more highlight from the range is the illuminating lights! It lights up automatically when you open the tube. So you can apply it when you’re in the dark as well. Clubs maybe?!

Call me a mountain turtle but these lip colours look like markers to me. And being said that, they are extremely easy to apply! It’s exactly the same on how you would use a marker. And so does the effect. It gives off a matt finish but leaves your lips colored and pouty.

Next up is this cute little cream puff! The tube is really as cute as it’s name.

It is available in 4 different shades.

So we were required to test out the products and create a pop diva look with them.

For me, pop diva is red lips and rosy cheeks.

So here’s me with my usual make up.

Still me, before any of the products were applied.

After:

I drew a longer and waved eyeliner with their waterproof eyeliner and ended it with their bronze glittery eyeliner.

Black eye shadow was also applied minimally.

As for the cheeks, I used the bottom left and right for the warmer feel. Although I know it looked more like the 2 tones above, but I guess it was all because of the lighting.

Also, don’t you just love the lip colour in the picture? OMG. I am so going to get that lipstick.

The side profile of my face looks really sharp here. Hahahaha. Not sure if I love all make ups or do I just simply love Collection.

Just some information on the prices, Collection Cosmetics are pretty valued for money because they are cost slightly lesser but has a huge range of different varieties. You really can’t get bored with them because they have a lot of colours which you can create the different looks with.

As funky and as pop as the picture below!

You can find Collection at selected Watson’s outlets

Ngee Ann City, North Point, Star Vista, United Square, Tampines Mall or Toa Payoh.

Visit them at their Facebook page for more information: https://www.facebook.com/CollectionSG or their website at www.collectioncosmetics.com.sg

The Body Shop Christmas Edition

Had always felt that The Body Shop is one of the easiest and best place to get Christmas presents due to the large variety and the long history of the brand.

And this year, I was invited to their Christmas Launch and the whole theme was an old school theme to support The School Project by The Body Shop.

The body shop has been supporting education for over 20 years and through their Community Fair Trade programme, they have helped a lot of children over the world by investing in the building of schools and provision of teaching materials.
The Christmas edition is back again this year to spice up the festivities so you can spoil yourself everyday.

There are three scents to choose from – Ginger Sparkle, Vanilla Bliss and the Cranberry Joy.

I can’t make up my mind whose first. The Vanilla or the Cranberry. Both of them were REALLY GOOD.

To each his own, Ginger was quite a hot pick as well!

For every collection, it contains a Hand Wash, Hand Lotion, Heart Shaped Soap, Body Butter and Body Polish.

Items are sold individually. So you can decide what your friend may need. Very ideal and valued for money if you’re buying them for Christmas presents. I like milky stuffs and scents. Hence, I really really love this Vanilla collection.

As for the Cranberry Joy, you can see a cute little Canberry Joy Lip Balm at the bottom right. It is said to be slightly tinted as well. The Lip Dome only cost $12.90! The cranberry scent has a really sweet smell. ย And I love all my scented make ups or perfume to smell fruity.

The ginerbread man can be found in the Ginger Sparkle collection which makes the whole outlook so christmas-y and cute!

The body butter is retailing at $32.90 for a 200ml tub. The gentle, special edition body exfoliator (Body Polish) is beautifully fragranced with the zingy Ginger Sparkle scent and contains Community Fair Trade honey from Ethiopia. It will only leave your skin soft, smooth, and ultra touchable.

Another good news, The Body Shop’s Sparkler is back!!

Also take note of the brush on the right. New Shimmer Bauble & Slanted Kabuki Brush can also be found in their new collection! It is said to be perfect for all skin tones! So, no matter dark or light, you can just try it!

You can decide if you want an Icy Plum or Golden Brown look for Christmas this year.

I love how the 4 step smokey eyes set are sold ($39.90)! You do not have to carry so many stuffs out just to make sure that the make up stays, all you have to do is to bring the palette out!

I love both, but I would love the Icy Plum look more!

As for the Lipstick (Colour Crush), retailing at $22.90 each, I gotta admit that I love the both of them equally. I am a sucker for lipstains.

They also have adorable Christmas Sets available for sale for the normal collection. You can save some time on packaging because everything is already nicely packed!

I love their Body Butter. Who doesn’t?

It is always nice to help the less fortunate. It is even better to be shopping and helping them out as well. I hope this entry has also given you more ideas for on what to get for Christmas this year! You really have to check the new collection out.

They will be in stores from November 2013 onwards.

Violet Dream Luminous Make Up

Violet Dream Luminous (VDL) is an international cosmetic brand which was founded in 2012 by The Color Lab of LG Household and Health care. They guides women and give specific answers to actualizing and living their colorful dreams.

Latest technology was adopted to create trendy makeup colors that enhances a woman’s natural beauty, making you as alluring as you can be. It had collaborated with renowned makeup artist, like Wendy Row and iconic brands to creatd trendy styles like Guylian and Hotel Gansevoort series.

They have a wide range of products from make up, to nail polishes, to skincare and even to fragrance.

Concealer to Liquid Foundation to Primer. I tried the primer and I really love it.

I love the matt feeling it leaves on my skin for a smoother application of makeup.

Festival Eye Shadow is also from one of the latest collections – Festival Love Mark Series which is available from 29th June 2013 onwards.

The theme creates a single-pattern makeup look which can be completed through a story.

The series consists of 3 product categories; Festival Lipstick Love Mark, Festival Mineral Eyes Love Mark and Festival Mineral Blusher Love Mark.

Festival Lipsticks. Take note of the heart in the middle. Soooo pretty.

Like I said, they carry a lot of products so they have a wide colour range of nail polishes too, and in a cute glass bottle – Sexy Lips.

My favourite product is probably this Tint Bar – Lip-Stain exclusive line.
I’ll post a review/look on this as soon as I have the time! ๐Ÿ™‚

This line carries a variety of lip tint and stains that differ in colors and viscosity. Inspired by vacation experience, products are specially designed to deliver refreshing fruity sentiments throught colors, scent and packaging.

Have you heard of gradient lips but can’t do it well? Well, this could be one of your solutions!

Other than the introduction of the varies products they carry, a makeup demo was also done by the makeup maestro Clarence Lee.

Yup, he’s holding to the Primer! I might visit the store and get one myself ๐Ÿ™‚

The liquid foundation is neither thick or greasy. It gives the skin a silicon feel.

According to Clarence, the mascara is the BOMB!

Eye Bomb from the Eye Makeup exclusive line which creates deep, powerful and intense eyes. Set to add definition and explosive depth to the eyes and offers a range of ultimate eye-opening weapons. Now you know why it’s called eye BOMB.

Ended the whole launch with tiny desserts and food served on a tray. I bet the food was specially customized for this lovely event. Too cute.

We were given some goodies to try out so keep reading to hear my review soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

VDL Tint Bar Triple Shot,

VDL Festival Lip Stick,

VDL Mineral Blusher,

VDL Ready Action Pen Liner,

VDL Festival Mineral Eyes

VDL Eye Bomb Mascara.

Well taken care off, from the eyes to the lips.

Finally, they have decided to open a flagship store in Singapore and
it is currently located at:

Suntec City LEvel 2 #02-338/339.

I was awestruck when I saw the colors in their store. You ought to visit them too if you’re a fan of makeups.

KATE Spring Summer 2013 Collection

I love love love love to try out new make ups or colors!

And have you already seen KATE Spring Summer 2013 Collection in stores yet? I have!!The launch was held few weeks ago and yes, a picture with my favorite bloggers again ๐Ÿ™‚

KATE, when we talk about KATE, the first colour that comes to my mind is black. Yes, and so were their flowers. Black and Gold, what a bold and classy combination.

The eyeshadow – Goldish Eyes is retailing at $27 per palette.

As you can see, it comes in 4 shades.ย I was given the one with blue eye shadow. Each set comes with Soft beige and Deep Brown.

Soft beige – A highlighter for the whole eyelid
Deep brown – Emphasizes the contours of the eyes.

The shimmers creates a look suitable for dinner or date. And do not worry about the colour as it is not as intense as you see in the picture. It was probably due to the lightings that made the gold look darker.

Other than the eye shadows, they have also Shiny Eyelid Liner ($20.50), Mat Black Gel Eyeliner ($25.50), Lash Extension Mascara ($25.50) and Brightening Makeup Base ($20.50).

As the name says, the mascara gave a lengthening effect on your lashes. If you are looking at volumizing, this is definitely not the choice for you. The mascara gives a more natural look than a dramatic look.

KATE Concealing Cover Powder Foundation is available at $34 and its casing at $14.50.

KATE Brightening Makeup Base can hide all the flaws that are easily visible on your face (like your pores and wrinkles *that is if you have any*).

When it comes to eyeliner, pencil eyeliner is DEFINITELY out for me because it smudge way too easily on my face, and I am a regular liquid eyeliner user. Hence, applying gel eyeliner would be a little hard for me but gel eyeliner is famous for staying in place (SMUDGE-FREE) even after a whole day.

Eyeliner need not necessary be applied to the upper eyelid but the bottom eyelid as well.

I am not sure if you can see it in this picture but focus on the left face, bottom eyelid. The liner was only applied halfway instead of the whole stretch because I didn’t want it to be too loud.

Very useful for people who are into the Korean/Japanese look!

The collection is available in BHG, Guardian Pharmacy, Watsons, SASA and other leading departmental stores from May 2013 onwards.

A lazy girl’s 2-4 minutes eye make up

How I draw my eyes, not too drama, though not extremely natural, but presentable ๐Ÿ™‚

I only spend about 2-3 minutes on the eye (with falsies on) and about 1 minute without falsies.

I know no one likes naggy and wordy post so I’ll keep it short

and show you how do I do my eye make up!

1. I usually draw my brows before applying the eyeliner.
I am currently using Cyber Colors from SASA.

2. Eyeliner done

Do you agree with me that the eyes look kind of tired and sleepy?

That’s where falsies comes into play.

I love long lashes and sometimes I put on fake eye lashes.

In order not to make them look so unnatural, I often curl my real lashes up before putting falsies on.

.
.

There are two kinds of curler. The mechanical one or the electrical one.

For me, I am using the electrical one by Panasonic where they make use of heating.

In my opinion, it actually last longer than the normal mechanical curler and easier to use.

Very time saving!! A few minutes was needed to do the trick.

The head would be heated after you on it and it will rotate by itself.

I spend about 1.5 minute for both eyes.

The end product would look something like this.

TA DAH! All ready to stick my falsies on.

Star Lash Natural DB 17.

Summary:

1. Draw eyebrows
2. Apply eye shadow (optional)
3. Apply eyeliner
4. Curl the lashes
5. Glue and stick the falsies

Just 4 – 5 simple steps.

It is this easy. Everyone can have dolly eyes too.

Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish cream

Today’s review is Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish cream SPF 40, PA++
Background information: Klairs is against animal testing as well!

Functions of the BB cream :
– Protection from sun
– Whitening
– Wrinkle improvement
– Sebum control

Each tube of BB cream is 40ml long. Heh.
As you can see from the picture, it is actually quite big.ย Generous amount!

Because Korean love natural makeups, and Klairs is a korean brand,
I am trying to apply as little makeup as possible for the natural look here ๐Ÿ˜€

Suitable for both dry, oily or combination skin.

And they do not cause:
– Grey undertone
– Cakey
– Darkening

You can replace your current primer or finishing power with this cream which contains sebum control powder that maintains makeup from morning to the afternoon.

Klair’s BB cream is brighter and lighter in colour when you compare it to other brands.

Also, it fits naturally from dark skin tone to light skin tone and it can be re-applied anytime for extra sun protection.

Important: Non sticky.

This picture was only taken after 2 rubs to show you how light and easily absorbed it can get.

My hands look so old and wrinkled in these pictures!

So I am hoping for Klair’s BB cream to reduce the wrinkles as well other than the face.

How to apply?

1. Apply adequate amount onto the fingers
2. Blend in from the under eye area to the cheeks
3. Gently dab around the area for blending

Let me introduce you to Elisha Coy Always Nuddy CC Cream WISHTrend sent me.

CC Cream is a bonus of BB Cream.
Skincare + Make Up = CC Cream!

When I first squeeze some out from the tube, I was quite surprised by the colour.
It’s white in colour instead of beige.

The more you apply, the better your skin looks and
there is no need for heavy foundation concealer or etc.

Don’t worry about your face being too oily after application.
They have conducted an oily test as well.

Look at the paper sprinkled and paper left on the hand. Are you convinced now?

(It is not sticky at all even during application)

Besides, I can leave house as early as 7.30am and reach home 14 hours later and the skin is merely mildly oily from my face’s own oil. And this was concluded after 2 weeks of application by yours truly.
Sometimes I leave home without foundation as well. That’s how convenient it is.

Here’s an example of my applying it on my hand.

ย Non-sticky/greasy, absorbs well and light even though it’s cream based.

It blends in after some rubbing.
