Clio – Kill Black!

Few weeks ago, I reviewed on Clio’s Lipnicure (http://maybelinesim.sg/2015/01/19/review-clip-lipnicure/) and now, I am back with their latest Kill Black Eyelienrs!

BIGGER, BLACKER, BOLDER. YUP.

Clio Waterproof Brush Liner Kill Black/Brown comes in a bigger box because it comes with a mini makeup remover. Each pair retails at $25.90 while the Kill Black Waterproof Pen and Pencil retails at $22.90 and $17.90 respectively.

The tips of the pen and the brush.

Black for comparison.

Top – Brush
Bottom – Pen

The pen is slightly higher to draw as the tip can be quite stiff when it is new. However, it gives off a more precise color – look at the deep black intensity. It is also easier to draw using the pen as it has a finer tip. The deep black color is very intense because of its greater carbon content. The previous version of Kill Black has only 6.8g of carbon while this version has 7g.

Although the brush may require a little more skill (which is pretty easy as well if you are used to drawing eyeliner), but I prefer the soft tip which glides on easily. Not to worry too much because the new ink containers provides better sanitation and delivers a smooth and controlled formula release.

I did a test to see how lasting they were by not washing off the lines on my hand for an entire day…

Indeed, without soap or any rubbing, they can last up to 24 hours! This is due to the exclusive film formula that has better waterproofing ability, and stays longer on skin without smudging or disappearing. TRUE ENOUGH, no evidence of smudge was seen for all 5 strokes!! Do not worry about infection or whatever because Kill Black has a humectant which has antimicrobial properties.

Kill Black series is currently one of my most most most favourite eyeliner range!!

You can draw the tail of the eyeliner winged or downwards easily. I winged it up a little with Kill Black Waterproof Pen Liner!

You can find Clio at Selected Watsons store! Go go! I am pretty sure that I will still buy them after I run out of them!

You can follow them in Instagram for more updates at @ClioSingapore 🙂

Your eyes tell a thousand stories

Just finish shooting for a blogshop yesterday and I think I found my favourite pair of eye lashes yesterday.

I ran out of my usual black eyeliner which I had always used and my old pair of eye lashes which I always wear for events/shoot died on me after more than 20 uses.

And this is also the time where I open up new make up products which I had previously received from the previous events/ parcels to try.

This post, is totally not an advert but a honest review of my current favorites.

I have brown hair, so generally, I would draw my brows brown as well. Most korean girls have brown brows as well!

My current brow liner is from K-Palette which I have been using everyday for months. I have to draw my brows everyday so a pencil like this would only last me for 2-3 months.

One of my new found loves is this dark brown eyeliner from Collection Cosmetics!

I am currently using the bottle on the right. The brush makes it easier to draw winged lines. I would only use gel/ liquid eyeliner because I have tried a lot of different brands of pencil eyeliner and they ALWAYS smudge on me even when it says smudge-proof.

The down part is that I am experiencing a tingling sensation each time I applied it. But the pain would only last for a second or two. I am the kind who would suffer that one second just to look good for the next 12 hours. The eyeliner has proved itself to be lasting!

Eyelashes, the thicker the better. The darker, the bigger.

I went for brown, instead of black this time round.

I love how natural it looked on my eyes!!

I have eyeliner and eyelashes on my eyes but the overall still produces a soft and natural look!! 2 thumbs and 2 toes up!!

In case you wanna know, the lashes that I am currently using is from Star Lash, model number DB17.

My previous pair of lashes was also from Beauty Direct – the distributor for Star Lash. The make up artist used Hollywood lashes for me for the TVC for Hada Labo. And I wore it for more than 4 months before it finally decided to give way.

I didn’t use it everyday but it was used for at least 20 times I guess? I felt that it is worth every penny so I have decided to get another box (10 pairs in a box) from them again! Trust me, I am not those who would spend money on eye lashes. If I buy it, it means it’s good.

K-Palette – Sweet as Chocolate

Look of the day for K-Palette – Sweet as Chocolate Event.

The event was held at Bliss House and I guess nowhere else would fit the theme as much as the venue it self! The whole decorations was so cute and there was this tea party kind of feel.

Could resist and had to pose with some balloons.

I have never tried K-Palette Kuma Concealer despite hearing raves about it.

This event has broaden my views about K-Palette and given me opportunities to try out all their Sweet as Chocolate products.

Had always wanted to try brown eyeliner to see how it would look on me.
Note: Contrast from the black eyeliner that we normally use, apply brown eyeliner can give a soft look appeal.

You have got to give it to them for their way of presenting their products! Too cute!!

The brown Real Lasting Eyeliner wasn’t as light as I had thought (thankfully).

I don’t want light brown eye liner on my lids.

Totally dig every little detail of the accessories.

As usual, a group picture with the fellow beauty bloggers.

Jacelyn, Jamie, Joyce and me. With Chantana, the cat behind.

Desserts to keep us filled while the K-Palette competition was taking place.
The final 3 from Cosmoprof Academy were vying for the first position.

Ms. Aya Umehara, who specially flew over from Japan was also present and gave us a demonstration on doing our eye makeup with Sweet as Chocolate products.
The emcee of the day was also quite funny and joyful.

Products that I bought home to try. Thank you K-Palette, Thank you Japalang!

Still digging this concealer they gave me. I applied it every morning to hide the panda eyes.

12 hours later, you still can’t really see my dark circles, can you? 😀

KATE Spring Summer 2013 Collection

I love love love love to try out new make ups or colors!

And have you already seen KATE Spring Summer 2013 Collection in stores yet? I have!!The launch was held few weeks ago and yes, a picture with my favorite bloggers again 🙂

KATE, when we talk about KATE, the first colour that comes to my mind is black. Yes, and so were their flowers. Black and Gold, what a bold and classy combination.

The eyeshadow – Goldish Eyes is retailing at $27 per palette.

As you can see, it comes in 4 shades. I was given the one with blue eye shadow. Each set comes with Soft beige and Deep Brown.

Soft beige – A highlighter for the whole eyelid
Deep brown – Emphasizes the contours of the eyes.

The shimmers creates a look suitable for dinner or date. And do not worry about the colour as it is not as intense as you see in the picture. It was probably due to the lightings that made the gold look darker.

Other than the eye shadows, they have also Shiny Eyelid Liner ($20.50), Mat Black Gel Eyeliner ($25.50), Lash Extension Mascara ($25.50) and Brightening Makeup Base ($20.50).

As the name says, the mascara gave a lengthening effect on your lashes. If you are looking at volumizing, this is definitely not the choice for you. The mascara gives a more natural look than a dramatic look.

KATE Concealing Cover Powder Foundation is available at $34 and its casing at $14.50.

KATE Brightening Makeup Base can hide all the flaws that are easily visible on your face (like your pores and wrinkles *that is if you have any*).

When it comes to eyeliner, pencil eyeliner is DEFINITELY out for me because it smudge way too easily on my face, and I am a regular liquid eyeliner user. Hence, applying gel eyeliner would be a little hard for me but gel eyeliner is famous for staying in place (SMUDGE-FREE) even after a whole day.

Eyeliner need not necessary be applied to the upper eyelid but the bottom eyelid as well.

I am not sure if you can see it in this picture but focus on the left face, bottom eyelid. The liner was only applied halfway instead of the whole stretch because I didn’t want it to be too loud.

Very useful for people who are into the Korean/Japanese look!

The collection is available in BHG, Guardian Pharmacy, Watsons, SASA and other leading departmental stores from May 2013 onwards.
