BOSS BOTTLED Collector’s Edition

Hi all, this is J! Here to share my experiences once again. This time around, it isnt food! Instead, I will be sharing on my review of my latest frangrance: the BOSS Bottled Collector’s Edition.

Before the review, I would like to share my take on Men’s personal grooming and one of the aspects NEVER to be missed is that of scent! Do you all agree that a scent of a person is strong enough to kickstart all the impression you have for that person the first moment you see them!

Ever heard of stories where your friends find this person attractive but its all blown away cos of one simple BO (body odour)! Hence, for this simple reason, i have taken the fragrance i used very seriously. Personally, i am a fan of perfume with a more musky scent. I have tried quite an array of perfumes before. Somehow, it comes to me very often esp during Christmas (is it that people are telling me very indirectly i have BO?!).

This time around, I am pretty excited as I will be trying the renowned Boss Bottled perfume that have guided men to success for more than 15 years!! This thrills me as Hugo Boss has always been like the top of the mind of guys when it come to a Manly & Musculine scent/brand!

First and foremost, I would like to share the various notes eg. base, top notes of the Boss Bottled (Collector Edition). (for more info on what notes means, pls refer to http://www.ebay.com/gds/What-do-Top-Middle-and-Base-Notes-in-fragrances-mean-/10000000000078045/g.html).

For the BOSS Bottled, it exudes a warm woody base giving it an unmistakably masculine scent for today’s man. Fruity and citrus top notes of apple, lemon and plum, balance with a floral and spicy heart, dominated by geranium, with the added spice of cinnamon and clove. Warming base notes of sandalwood, vetiver and cedarwood are offset by vanilla.

Much like the Man of Today adds a perfectly tailored suit to cement his groomed look, the vanilla refines the fragrance, creating a sophisticated wrapping around the remaining ingredients. The contrast of the masculine spicy wood notes and the unconventional fruity vanilla notes intrigues, but never goes off balance.

The result is a fragrance which remains as contemporary and relevant today as it was at launch.

Next is the packaging and design of the bottle. A picture speaks a thousand word so here is the packaging for you to judge for yourself:

Personally as a hugh fan of the more serious colours like silver, black etc, i am definitely intrigued by the elegant & mysterous black and silver combination which gives it a contemporary and refined finishing. Whereas for the bottle itself, the clean, sleek design of the glass flacon embodies the classic BOSS ideals of elegance and style. I am immediately reminded of the striking resemblance to that of a sleek black suit. Futhermore, i am attracted to its simplicity which gives the feel of a timeless classic, for man not just in the past but also Man of Today.

The Boss Bottled comes in sizes of 30ml, 50ml,100ml and the largest being 200ml. So Ladies! This gives you additional flexibility when buying it as a gift for your Man 😉  The pricing as follows:

BOSS BOTTLED Eau de Toilette Spray 30ml – SGD 70
BOSS BOTTLED Eau de Toilette Spray 50ml – SGD 94
BOSS BOTTLED Eau de Toilette Spray 100ml – SGD 122
BOSS BOTTLED Eau de Toilette Spray 200ml – SGD 193

M introduced Boss Bottled into my life and made it part of my daily accessories & neccessities!

A new scent to embrace a new beginning 2015 as I await the challenges ahead confidently armed with the scent of BOSS BOTTLED!

The Body Shop Christmas Edition

Had always felt that The Body Shop is one of the easiest and best place to get Christmas presents due to the large variety and the long history of the brand.

And this year, I was invited to their Christmas Launch and the whole theme was an old school theme to support The School Project by The Body Shop.

The body shop has been supporting education for over 20 years and through their Community Fair Trade programme, they have helped a lot of children over the world by investing in the building of schools and provision of teaching materials.
The Christmas edition is back again this year to spice up the festivities so you can spoil yourself everyday.

There are three scents to choose from – Ginger Sparkle, Vanilla Bliss and the Cranberry Joy.

I can’t make up my mind whose first. The Vanilla or the Cranberry. Both of them were REALLY GOOD.

To each his own, Ginger was quite a hot pick as well!

For every collection, it contains a Hand Wash, Hand Lotion, Heart Shaped Soap, Body Butter and Body Polish.

Items are sold individually. So you can decide what your friend may need. Very ideal and valued for money if you’re buying them for Christmas presents. I like milky stuffs and scents. Hence, I really really love this Vanilla collection.

As for the Cranberry Joy, you can see a cute little Canberry Joy Lip Balm at the bottom right. It is said to be slightly tinted as well. The Lip Dome only cost $12.90! The cranberry scent has a really sweet smell.  And I love all my scented make ups or perfume to smell fruity.

The ginerbread man can be found in the Ginger Sparkle collection which makes the whole outlook so christmas-y and cute!

The body butter is retailing at $32.90 for a 200ml tub. The gentle, special edition body exfoliator (Body Polish) is beautifully fragranced with the zingy Ginger Sparkle scent and contains Community Fair Trade honey from Ethiopia. It will only leave your skin soft, smooth, and ultra touchable.

Another good news, The Body Shop’s Sparkler is back!!

Also take note of the brush on the right. New Shimmer Bauble & Slanted Kabuki Brush can also be found in their new collection! It is said to be perfect for all skin tones! So, no matter dark or light, you can just try it!

You can decide if you want an Icy Plum or Golden Brown look for Christmas this year.

I love how the 4 step smokey eyes set are sold ($39.90)! You do not have to carry so many stuffs out just to make sure that the make up stays, all you have to do is to bring the palette out!

I love both, but I would love the Icy Plum look more!

As for the Lipstick (Colour Crush), retailing at $22.90 each, I gotta admit that I love the both of them equally. I am a sucker for lipstains.

They also have adorable Christmas Sets available for sale for the normal collection. You can save some time on packaging because everything is already nicely packed!

I love their Body Butter. Who doesn’t?

It is always nice to help the less fortunate. It is even better to be shopping and helping them out as well. I hope this entry has also given you more ideas for on what to get for Christmas this year! You really have to check the new collection out.

They will be in stores from November 2013 onwards.

ZA 15th Anniversary and Limited Ed Case

Make a Guess. Whose’s 15th birthday party is this?!

It’sssssssss ZA!!!!!

ZA has been a well-loved brand among women who love fuss free, simple yet fun beauty products.

My first foundation was ZA and to date, it’s still ZA 🙂

Through these years, they are awarded with numerous awards and accolates and this year, they will be celebrating their 15th anniversary!

And on this very special occasion, they will be bringing us a limited edition foundation case as a special tank you to their users for spending 15 awesome years with them.

The case is designed by a freelance illustrator born in Tokyo. She has worked with Anna Sui for T-shirt designs and her work has also appeared with magazines such as Vogue Italia and Vogue Girl Korea.

The inspiration for the case drew from the ZA girl who is always brimming with energy and love to be seen in all the hottest parties in town. And on this special day, she gathers all her girl friends, dress up and indulge to celebrate with cakes and not forgetting a class of bubbly for her favorite brand’s 15th birthday.

Look flawless, poreless and perfect in all party pictures with perfect fit two way foundation. Formulated with water holding collagen and hyaluronic acid, it pumps your skin with moisture keeping it well hydrated all day long. The SPF 20PA++ shields you from harmful sunrays in the day while pore less power and oil control powder keeps you looking fresh and matte.

Cute props were provided for us to camwhore. Look at the little hat, specs and tie!

I thought the sponge with suit looks like a potato. LOL.

Like a sir Mascara. So cute!

The party was held at Window Sill Pies so we had a quite a few yummy pies that night.

Pretty casing comes in a package. Cute cafe and sweet layout with sweet treats.

Yummmehhh pies with eye feasting babes/ products in the cafe. #EyeFeastForMyEyes

Vanity Trove April Box

My first box from Vanity Trove. April’s edition.

Excellent service because I got my box within 24 hours after accepting the review.

You know the kind of feeling when you receive a surprise box? Yes yes. HAPPY AND EXCITED.

I was a little disappointed when I opened it up to find little items inside. (Yes, a little) Probably because I have long heard of Vanity Trove and their raves so I was expecting more from them. But of course, they didn’t promise that it would come with a lot of products to review. So it’s mainly my own problem. Heh.

TADAH~ Here’s what inside April Box (It actually seems quite look afterall. Hahaha)

This time round, Elizabeth Arden joins the ranks of Vanity Trove’s luxury brand partners to introduce Visible Whitening range to bust melanin formation from the evil sun.

I have long heard of Elizabeth Arden but never had a chance to try them out. Thank you Vanity Trove!

Note: Skin appears to be darker/yellower due to the lightings.

Visible Whitening Multi-Targeted UV Shield BB Cream SPF 30 PA++ – $80 for 125ml

Look, totally blends in with my skin well. Non-sticky. Totally love it!

Non-sticky is a bonus because some BB cream can really get cakey and sticky on the skin which kind of irritates me because I hate oily skin so I can’t stand a tinge of grease on my face.

Smoothing cleanser – $55 for 125ml.

The micro beads melt when you cleanse your face, leaving the skin more even tone.

Now, for the melanin control night capsules – $140 for 50 capsules.

There was 2 capsules in the packet.

Tried applying it at night.

The fluid is quite yellowish. Doesn’t look good because it look like some sort of plasma fluid HAHAHA.

But don’t judge a book by its cover. I like of like it after effect. It leaves my skin moisturized and smooth. I like this product 😀

Dr Ci:Labo, a popular label from Japan crafted by dermatologists.

Super moisture EX.

I like its small sized. Easy to carry around. Light fragrance.

Super cleansing EX – $50 for 100ml on the left and Super washing foam – $47 for 120ml on the right.

Easy to wash off. And super cleansing EX has a very light texture too.

It doesn’t make your skin dry and it can remove the most stubborn make up!

Lastly is the BB Perfect Cream – $67 for 30g (Tskk, sounds a little pricey)

I have yet to try it yet but I know it’s one of the product that many people are raving at.

It can be used as a make up base, cream or essence, so I guess it’s worth the price!
