sOmang Beauty Event

Attended sOmang beauty event with the rest of the MFP girls!

It was my first time meeting most of them.

The purpose of event was to introduce us their new Midnight range. Apart from that, they also introduced and demonstrated some of their hot selling products to us.

Beautiful backdrop to suit the midnight theme.

A live demonstration was also carried out on some of their products. The green bottle that the lady on the right is holding is actually one of their signature products – the cleansing oil.

They cleansed the model’s face and applied moisturizer/cc cream, so on and so forth.

Most of the bloggers were raving about sOmang’s CC cream because they had previously tried it for an advert. And everyone was gahgah-ing over it.

CC cream was already applied in the beauty below. Can you see the instant glow the model has on her face? *jealous*

Wendy, Herine and Maybeline! Dang, I should have hidden behind them. Now my face look so fat 🙁

We also had the chance to do a mini hands on where we were given a black eye mask and some materials to decorate.

Nadia and Fidelis were there too!

Another thing that caught my attention was the packaging of this product!

I brought home their Midnight Mild Peel Sleeping Essence, Midnight Hydro Intense Sleeping Cream and Nutrition Cream Gel Mask.

Yay! I will also be reviewing these products in a separate entry after I am done reviewing them.

K-Palette – Sweet as Chocolate

Look of the day for K-Palette – Sweet as Chocolate Event.

The event was held at Bliss House and I guess nowhere else would fit the theme as much as the venue it self! The whole decorations was so cute and there was this tea party kind of feel.

Could resist and had to pose with some balloons.

 I have never tried K-Palette Kuma Concealer despite hearing raves about it.

This event has broaden my views about K-Palette and given me opportunities to try out all their Sweet as Chocolate products.

Had always wanted to try brown eyeliner to see how it would look on me. 
Note: Contrast from the black eyeliner that we normally use, apply brown eyeliner can give a soft look appeal.

 You have got to give it to them for their way of presenting their products! Too cute!!

The brown Real Lasting Eyeliner wasn’t as light as I had thought (thankfully). 

I don’t want light brown eye liner on my lids.

Totally dig every little detail of the accessories.

Desserts to keep us filled while the K-Palette competition was taking place. 
The final 3 from Cosmoprof Academy were vying for the first position.

 Ms. Aya Umehara, who specially flew over from Japan was also present and gave us a demonstration on doing our eye makeup with Sweet as Chocolate products. 
The emcee of the day was also quite funny and joyful.

Etude House Lash Perm All Shockcara

Another pretty product from Korea for review.

And it’s non other than the highly raved brand – Etude House!

Bling bling Packaging.

This mascara has 4 different unique selling points as compared to other mascaras.

1. Highly elastic pink spiral brush

Most mascara brushes are literally bushy brushes but Lash Perm All Shockcara has 4 way pink spiral brush with highly elastic bumps that makes surreal eyelashes.

This little thin brush can give you both volume and curls.

2. Super Fitting Technology

Autoagglutination powder can volumes, lengthens and curls the eyelashes by increasing the adhesiveness between lashes and mascara.

3. Zero-smudging, Waterproof

Back to point 2, despite the increase in adhesiveness, you don’t have to worry about it smudging onto your eyelids at all. The all proof wrapping system strongly protects swear, water and oil by preventing them to get inside the mascara which can last up to 12 hours.

However, it can be easily removed by cleansing with warm water. I tired removing it with my milk cleanser and it works well for me even with normal tap water.

4. Lash Perm All Shockcara has Black Hole Pigment

This can help to express clearer and deeper eye.

Take a look at the Carbon Black Pigment below and compare it with the Black Hole Pigment on the right, clearly, which pigment gives a brighter and darker eye?

The answer is clear. Yes, the Black Hole Pigment.

Nuff said. Let’s give it a go and put it to test!

With a gentle application of Lash Perm All Shockcara VS No Mascara.

The length and volume was visibly increased even with a gentle application. I don’t like too dramatic eyes so I would pretty a natural look.

As for the curls, I didn’t curl it up with any eyelash curler but you can clearly see that it is curling upwards in the picture.

Alright, Lash Perm All Shockcara has passed the test!

All in one perfect mascara for volumizing, curling, lengthening and waterproof. YAY!

My new hair sponsor – Salon B

Here I have with me is my new hair sponsor – Salon B.

Salon B is a Korean Salon based in Singapore. Most of their hair stylists are koreans.

What probably caught my attention when I first stepped in was the design and layout of the salon because it looks cosy and posh.

My favourite item in the salon. THIS! Can someone buy this home for me?!?!?!

My purpose there was to do a volume rebonding and some trimming. I had wanted to colour my hair as well but had decided to just do one chemical treatment on it first, let it rest for a month, and color it during the next visit 🙂

We have been to salons for haircuts countless of times. But this is the first time that I was given an eye guard to protect the eyes so that no chemicals or hair would come in-contact with my eyes or skin.

I felt pampered and well taken care of.

Washed, Blowed dry and then cream + heat for 20 minutes.

I couldn’t feel much different at first as it was not my first time doing rebonding until…….

Until the two assistants came over to dry my hair and the director came back to me.

She told me to touch my hair and feel the difference. She haven’t even brush or comb the hair yet but it was already super smooth. I swear!! And then, I began to realize what makes this salon stands out more!

I went on to ask her what cream and brand was that but I think she replied me in Korean. So I assumed that it was a Korean brand. But I’ll ask her again during my second visit later this month.

After drying the hair, the director went on to straighten the whole head of hair before applying the second cream to stabilize the hair. It was then washed off after 15 – 20 minutes or so.

I realized that the salon carries Wella products as well. 🙂

As I had ugly shoulder length hair (due to the previous sponsor who suggested me to cut my hair short and I couldn’t stand the growing process as the hair was ALWAYS in a mess during the growing phase), it was very hard to maintain so I could only tie up my hair everywhere I go, which is also why you don’t see much photos of me with my hair let down.

But now, I am confident of letting the hair down as they look shiny and smooth. I don’t even have to brush my hair after shower/ when I wake up in the morning as they are never messy and never tangled.

I can’t tell or explain how pleased I am with my hair right now. Seriously, I could only have dry and thin hair.

Look at the picture below with my holding my hair ends. Smooth aren’t they?

I would really like to thank Salon B from the bottom of my heart for all the good hair days that I am waking up to!!!

With Salon B, it’s hard to even have a bad hair day.

How to use?

It is milky and not what I had expected it to be – clear.


It doesn’t look as thick as you would thought it the picture above. 

Rubbed it till everything is absorbed in by your skin. It will leave a slight tinge of stickiness but it’s normal as it was meant for it to be. How do you peel and rub it off when it’s dry?


I let it absorb for 15 seconds more (even after all the absorption was done) before rubbing it to exfoliate dead skin cells. 
Yes, please do this in the toilet to avoid a mess. Hahaha.
As you rub, your dead skin cells are actually coming off from the skin. Gently rinse it off with water and you can feel smoother skin.

I am expecting to see my skin glow after prolong use.

I will do a review for the BB cream on another entry as I am currently trying to finish my tube of BB Cream before trying this out one.

Violet Dream Luminous Make Up

Violet Dream Luminous (VDL) is an international cosmetic brand which was founded in 2012 by The Color Lab of LG Household and Health care. They guides women and give specific answers to actualizing and living their colorful dreams.

Latest technology was adopted to create trendy makeup colors that enhances a woman’s natural beauty, making you as alluring as you can be. It had collaborated with renowned makeup artist, like Wendy Row and iconic brands to creatd trendy styles like Guylian and Hotel Gansevoort series.

They have a wide range of products from make up, to nail polishes, to skincare and even to fragrance.

Concealer to Liquid Foundation to Primer. I tried the primer and I really love it.

I love the matt feeling it leaves on my skin for a smoother application of makeup.

Festival Eye Shadow is also from one of the latest collections – Festival Love Mark Series which is available from 29th June 2013 onwards.

The theme creates a single-pattern makeup look which can be completed through a story.

The series consists of 3 product categories; Festival Lipstick Love Mark, Festival Mineral Eyes Love Mark and Festival Mineral Blusher Love Mark.

Festival Lipsticks. Take note of the heart in the middle. Soooo pretty.

Like I said, they carry a lot of products so they have a wide colour range of nail polishes too, and in a cute glass bottle – Sexy Lips.

Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish cream

Today’s review is Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish cream SPF 40, PA++
Background information: Klairs is against animal testing as well!

Functions of the BB cream :
– Protection from sun
– Whitening
– Wrinkle improvement
– Sebum control

Each tube of BB cream is 40ml long. Heh.
As you can see from the picture, it is actually quite big. Generous amount!

Because Korean love natural makeups, and Klairs is a korean brand,
I am trying to apply as little makeup as possible for the natural look here 😀

Suitable for both dry, oily or combination skin.

And they do not cause:
– Grey undertone
– Cakey
– Darkening

You can replace your current primer or finishing power with this cream which contains sebum control powder that maintains makeup from morning to the afternoon.

Klair’s BB cream is brighter and lighter in colour when you compare it to other brands.

Also, it fits naturally from dark skin tone to light skin tone and it can be re-applied anytime for extra sun protection.

Important: Non sticky.

This picture was only taken after 2 rubs to show you how light and easily absorbed it can get.

My hands look so old and wrinkled in these pictures!

So I am hoping for Klair’s BB cream to reduce the wrinkles as well other than the face.

How to apply?

1. Apply adequate amount onto the fingers
2. Blend in from the under eye area to the cheeks
3. Gently dab around the area for blending

Etude House – I’m Blooming Skincare

What kind of skincare products are you attracted to most?

Price? Packaging? 
Effectiveness? 
Country of origin?

For me it is definitely effectiveness and packaging!

And do you know that Etude house have very nice smelling and pretty packaging products?!

I went “Omg they are so pretty!” when I saw them. I bet you are going to say the same too.

I’ll let the pictures do justice for the brand/products.

First up, they have facial mist of Pure Green Tea, Essential Flower and Canola Honey.

Each mist serves a different function to cater to the different skin type.

Pure Green Tea: Sebum Control Mist
– Hydrates thirsty skin while controling oil and shine, providing soft powdery skin.
– Contains 95.5% of early summer green tea extract that balances out skin’s moisture level for a moist inside with a soft, powdery outside.

Canola Honey: Deep Moisture Mist
– Provides instant hydrating relief to skin, locking in long-lasting vital moisture.
– Contains 81.9% of Honey extract that delivers deep, rich moisture and nourishment to skin.

Essential Flower: Brightening Mist
– Brightens up dull and exhausted skin and smoothes out rough texture, providing a clear, milky-white complexion.
– Contains 93.9% of flower extracts that add brightness to the skin.

All of them smells really really nice and I can’t really decide on which one is my favorite.
If I would have to, I would probably pick Canola Honey which helps in hydrating my dry skin.

Next is the cleansing series which consist of Moisture Cleansing foam, Clear cleansing water and Brightening water gel.

The clear cleansing water contains plant origin surfactant. It is mild (so do not worry about it being harsh or if your skin can’t take it). Though mild, it is effective in removing thick makeup.

And know what? You do not need to rinse it off with additional water. Very convenient right?!

Imagine wiping and washing your whole face with just clear cleansing water and cotton pads.

Time saving. Very convenient for people who always reach home late and is lazy to remove full make up.

Brightening Wash-off Gel contains flower and plant-origin powder. Suitable for daily wash and gently removes dead skin cells, providing smooth, supple skin. As you wash your face, it strengthens the skin’s natural vitability.

Lastly, the Moisture Cleansing Foam gently removes impurities with its fine bubbles, providing full hydration to skin right after cleansing without any signs of dryness and helps maintain fresh, blooming, healthy skin.

Skincare is not the end. It is also important to use fine and soft pads during cleansing.

Thee cotton pads have 5 layers each and made of 100% pure and soft cotton!

I like this I’m Blooming Bubble Peeling Dual Pad because it was two different textured sides that each have its own function.

One side with foam mesh for moist bubble cleansing and other side with microfiber texture for effective exfoliation and peeling.
