Brunching in at MEDZS

Sponsored

Yet another delightful meal with the boy. Why delightful? Because I love brunch!! My focus on brunch is always the eggs. I can’t do brunch without eggs.

So guess where did we visit this time round?

Does the background and swing look familiar? YUP. It’s the CBD area. I am very jealous of you people who work at CBD area because they have takeaway brunch on display at 50% off for their bistro at Clifford Centre (Raffles Place MRT) from now till 31st March. Let me work out some maths for you later and you will know why.

If you wanna dine in (or takeaway), you can also enjoy free coffee with any breakfast item. Cheapppppp?!

Take a look at what they have to offer. All the prices are before discount

Viennoiserie Mini Croissants (Cold Display):
– Prawn & Sesame Dressing – $3.90
– Lemonade Crab Meat Mayo – $4.90
– Pork Ham & Cheese – $3.90
– Turkish-spiced Chicken – $3.90
– Home-made Cured Salmon – $3.90

Let me just zoom in to my favourite – Lemonade Crab Meat Mayo. Judge yourself and ask if the ingredients are compromised even when the displays are at 50% off for takeaway. It tasted a little weird because lemon are refreshing while crab meat mayo is a little on the heavy side but it just gets better and you want more and more.

I actually quite like the Pork Ham & Cheese too but they were not as outstanding as the Crab Meat Mayo!

That was my favourite croissants but definitely not my favourite item in the menu because you can’t find eggs in the fillings.

MY ULTIMATE EGGS. THEY ARE HERE. AND WHO WOULD EVEN REALIZE THAT SCRAMBLE EGGS CAN BE THAT CHEAP FOR BRUNCH!!

Scramble Eggs with Chicken Sausage, Mushroom and Bacon ($5.90)

I preferred this than the scramble eggs (coming up next) later because I like the tinge of mushroom and bacon. It haves the scramble egg a more fulfilling taste. I ordered a second helping all to myself! Not sure if they have butter in the eggs but I thought I tasted butter (in a good way though).

Egg White Scramble with Smoked Salmon Graviax ($4.90)

James prefer this because they are all egg white, PROTEINS. Health conscious or body builder can always go for this. You can eat all the eggs without having to worry about the cholesterol!

This is where the Mathematics comes in. Let’s take 50% off the Egg White Scramble with Smoked Salmon Graviax… soooo, only $2.45? YUP! Only that. But do remember to add in GST.  Remember, you can get a cup of coffee for free with any breakfast item!!! Tell me, Where can you find such awesome prices?

You can also find Artisan Sandwiches & Baguette or even French Bread Pizza too.

Artisan Sandwiches & Baguette:
– Laugen Brotchen with Pork Bierschinken & Red Cheddar Cheese (German)
– Beef Pastrami with Rustic Baguette (French)
– Olive Ciabatta with Prosciutto & Veal Paprika Lyoner Ham (Italian)
– Italian Panini Bread with Tomato Capresse & Buffalo Mozzarella (Italian)

French Bread Pizza – Stone Oven Olive Bread (traditional) in a french pizza style:
– Stuffed Cheesy Pull-apart Bread with Parsley & Basil
– Magherita (Buffolo Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato & Basil)
– Beef Pepperoni Salami. Spicy Chorizo & Olives –
– Honey Baked Ham & Roasted Pineapple
– Pesto Herbs & White Mushroom Cream
– Al Fruiti De Mare (Prawn, Tuna & Crab)

I did not managed to give everything a try because I was too busy indulging in the eggs but I remember James saying he love the Al Fruiti De Mare French Bread Pizza was it contains a medley of prawn, tuna and crab.

And on Saturdays, MEDZS will extend their breakfast menu to an all-day dining one. Yoohooohoooo! Now you know where to visit for brunch on Saturday!!

Christmas Log Cake & Menu at MEDZS

Yes! J am back again! Maybeline’s partner in crime especially when it come to gourmet food tasting experiences. Likewise for this time around, we went back to MEDZS. However, this time it is not just for their usual authetic Mediterranean dishes but also their long-awaited Christmas menu since the ‘jingling’ festive is around the corner! Cant help but share the main highlight for this dinner first: the Log Cake! After seeing it, i think it truly deserves the award for the Prettiest log cake of the year:

MEDZS Rainbow Log Cake (1.2kg) @ an affordable price of $46.90. It doesn’t just look good, it tasted good as well . Imagine the fushion of various flavaoured cream (eg cream cheese, orange cream etc) between the layer of different coloured sponges. It’s no wonder it’s voted the BEST Rainbow cake by 8 days!

Not to put all the limelight on therainbow cake, there are other wonderful dishes in the christmas menu as well. The award for most inovative dish has to go to this one: the Oven Roasted Roulade with Provencal herbs and confit garlic.

Thoroughly enjoyed the taste of their Medzs recipe nuts filling at the centre of the meat layer. So much so M & I called for one more serving of it despite our filled-to-the-brim stomach end of this dinner.

Another pork dish worth mentioning: the tender and juicy Oven roasted Crispy pork knuckle in gourmet marinade with Bratwurst

Enough of the pork. How can christmas ever go without the most highly raved Turkey! Indeed, Medz also came up with their very own special turkey dish: the Mediterranean Spice infused Whole turkey with Foie Gras and chestnut stuffing! i think this is the MUST TRY out of the whole christmas menu or rather the epitome of christmas dish due to its very unique taste. This is espeically so when you have the inovative combination between the flavourful foie gras, crunchy sweet chestnut and moist turkey meat!

We had some wonderful desserts to end off our pre-christmas food tasting at MEDZ. Though less striking as compared to the rainbow cake, they do have their own array of visual and palatable pleasure.

One noteworthy dessert is The Black Beauty of MEDZ logcake.

Belgian Dark Callebaut Log Cake. Made with 100% Belgium dark chocolate for those dark choc fans like me! Comes in 1.2kg at afforable price of $43.90! Definitely more than enough and good for office sharing or christmas gathering!

Not forgetting their Chocolate Pralines which comes in boxes of 5. Perfect gifts for anyone who matters greatly to you just like M to me! Well, unfortunately she isnt a great fan of pralines. Therefore, i shall just save them for myself! >< while saving the holidays for her *literally* speaking of which we just came back from our first trip tog to Melaka!

Last but not least, we both agree that we could not just end the whole food tasting experience without our favourite snack at MEDZ which is their Truffle fries. It came in such a generous portion we had to share it with our other blogger friends who sat with us at the same table!

Its my first food tasting for MEDZ chrstimas menu but definitely not the last especially after the wonderful experience i had this time around. Look forward to be back for more soon! 🙂

MEDZS – Asian Kitchen

Back to my land of happiness. My happiness is made up of good food + good drinks + good company + happy & healthy family.

MEDZS has very good pastas. You know, dining at MEDZ is like embarking on a gourmet odyssey around the world. Asian Kitchen was newly added to the restaurant at Millenia Walk’s outlet, allowing gourmands to savour the East and the West under one roof.

My parents love Asian food but I prefer having pasta to rice. The concept of MEDZS can meet the different needs and likings of a family so it makes it suitable for hosting a family dinner or a little catch up with friends.

My favourite item from their menu (other than their interesting small bits like Crispy Fish Skin with Superior Broth) was the Braised Tiger Prawns in Superior Pumpkin Broth. The broth has a slight tinge of salted egg taste but no salted egg was added inside. All the big juicy prawns were soaked in the broth. The dish was also served with buns where you can dip them into the broth like how you eat your chilli crabs!

The sides are served with a small bowl of soup.

Asian Cuisine is never complete without crabs, so here’s Wok Fried Chilli Flower Crab for you. The sauce is very spicyyyyyy. Spicy food lovers, this is definitely calling out to you.

Seafood Mee Goreng.

Seafood Fried Rice – Load up on carbohydrates and enjoy the potpourri of seafood that is tossed into the mix!

Set menus for Asian dining starts from $9.90 each. The menu feature classics such as woke fried sirloin, sweet and sour pork, ma po tofu and all. They are available daily (including weekends!) and are served with fragrant rice, salad tossed with Japanese sesame and soup of the day.

Apart from the Asian Cuisine, don’t forget to try out the other cuisines that they have to offer.

Chick Tagine.

My personal favorite combination would be pasta and desserts. I like to end my meal with sweet stuffs. It kind of sums up the entire meal.

Chocolate brownie with Vanilla Ice cream.

Rainbow cake can please anyone who are down. Exactly what I needed that night.

Earl Grey Creme Brulee.

Find MEDZS @ Millenia Walk #01-46/47/55/56.

People who work there might want to give them a try! Especially for lunch! 🙂

All day brunch at MEDZS

You should be glad… No… rather, I should be glad.

I can wake up late on weekends and still make it for brunch because MEDZS is introducing their new brunch menu.

MEDZS is a restaurant that offers a cashless, casual dining concept and a home to an eclectic range of Mediterranean cuisines. They have a mixture of French, Spanish, Moroccan, Italian, Greek and Turkish brunch for you to pick.

Now, what is brunch without eggs?

I was literally jumping for joy when I knew that I was going to taste all the different kind of breakfast set with EGGS.

Here comes Bouncy Benedict ($14.90) served with rosti.

Everyone was going for the egg when this set was served.

Look at that yolk, it’s oozing out!

Stacked Brunch Torte ($14.90), was a generously served brunch. I find this set value for money because it is able to feed two. The insides are filled with egg, bell peppers, cheese, spinach and ham. A unique twist of combination.

My personal favourite is Le Jolly Monsieur ($13.90).

Having tried all the eggs of the different sets, the scramble eggs tasted the best. I like having eggs, cheese and ham for breakfast and Le Jolly Monsieur has all three of them inside on top of the bacon and bratwurst.

Slurrpppppps!

Toasty Tortilla ($14.90), with eggs, served in another way. Still served with scramble eggs, but also with the Spanish omelette. There are a lot of onions in the omelette, so sweet onions lover, you would probably love this.

Poseidon’s Wrap ($14.90), served with prawn, fish, squid, tomato, lettuce, scramble egg, tzatziki and Greek salad.

Egg-crowned Shashouka ($14.90), served with lamb kefta, tomatoes, eggs tagine and garlic toast.

Round off your delightful meal with a colourful dessert.

A Berry Pancake Gala (S$12.90) features fluffy pancakes crowned with fresh berries as well as summer berries! You can also choose to sweeten the enjoyment with a choice of maple, mango, vanilla or strawberry sauce.

There are other sets that are waiting for you at the restaurant. Experience one of the largest range of brunch items, with prices from just $12.90 to $14.90.

MEDZS has set out to whip up dishes that are hearty and affordable. The dishes are priced affordably so that you do not have to worry about burning a hole in your pocket even if you decide to pamper yourself every weekend.

The restaurants’ cozy and friendly settings also make them an ideal place for to enjoy tete-a-tete conversations. Visit Orchard Central for the underground buzz, and Millenia Walk to enjoy the spacious and alfresco setting.

MEDZS – Lover Platters

MEDZS left me with a WOW with their Carbonara the previous time I went for their food tasting. And now, they are back with another theme specially for Valentines’ Day which is only available between 13th – 16th February 2014 (Thursday to Sunday) with the lowest platter being priced at $18.90.

There are 7 different platters to choose from so there would be choices to cater to everyone’s likings!

Seduction in MEDZS Garden – $26.90

This platter consist of Charcuterie and Pickles, Bread and Spread, Pork-and-Sage “Albondigas” Slider, Salad Chiffonade with Balsamic. Ham lovers should love this platter because of the extremely fresh parma ham.

Spanish Surprises – $32.90

Calamari with Bacon and Squid Ink Sauce, Galician Baby Octopus with Boiled Potatoes and Piquillo Peppers, Crispy Pork Belly and Chilli Aioli, Smoked Paprika Shoft-Shell Crab and Braised Mixed Paella.

Classicially French – $38.90

Smoked Chicken and Cheese Sausage, Smoked Pork Belly, Salt-Crusted Beef Sirloin, Honey-Glazed Pork Ribs, Roasted Mushrooms, Patatouille and Steakhouse Fries.

This is perhaps the biggest platter among the seven platters and would definitely for people/couples who are meat lovers.

Greek Temptations – $36.90

For me, a seafood lover, this would be my ultimate choice for the main course. Prawn, fish and chicken all in one. This platter is made up of Chicken Soulaki with Tzatziki Sauce, Salmon and Spinach “Spanakopita”, King Prawn Thermidor and Grilled Mixed Fish.

Moroccan Memories – $32.90

Chicken “Brochette”, Mechoui Baby Lamb T-Bone, Ras-el-Hanout Spiced Beef Kebab, Couscous, Hummus and Gyro Bread. The serving of source in the middle was pretty acquired as it has a mixture of yogurt in it as well. Either you like it, or you don’t, but trust me, it taste just good with the Gyro Bread.

Passionately Italian – $32.90

Served with Grilled Italian Vegetables, Grilled Crayfish with Shallots, Chilli Flakes and Provencal Herbs, Risotto-and-Olives Arancini, Sicilian Braised Baby Octopus and Squid.

Lastly, a meal isn’t complete without desserts. The last platter is Dainty Desserts – $18.90.

This is every girl’s favourite platter for sure! The macarons actually comes in heart-shaped. Platter includes Chocolate Crepe Dentelle Trio, Chilled Strawberry Souffle and Hearty Lychee and Rose Macarons.

Other than these, we also ordered ala carte mains and desserts. We literally went gah-gah over their pretty and happy desserts.

Although I prefer chocolatey stuffs, rainbow cakes never fail to bring a smile to the face.

Even happier when the table is full of desserts!

With the pretty girl, Alene.

The above 2 images of Alene and me are directly taken from her blog 🙂

Deep sea prawns for prawn lovers like us!

And my must have when I visit MEDZS!!

Parma Ham Rosti. I think the Salmon one taste equally good too!

Come choose your poison at MEDZS

Alert Alert Alert!

Have you always been a fan of desserts just like me? I can skip my meals for just desserts I swear! And here in this post, is a Sinful Series of delicious desserts which are paired with refreshing cocktails.

Interesting? They are known as the seven deadly sins! MEDZS’s desserts have earned recognition of many epicureans and so to take their enjoyments up a notch, they have came up with this series.

Having personally been to Europe, I had personally experience how food establishments offers delectable desserts in the meals and they are even offering irresistible pairings of desserts and cocktails. Thanks to MEDZS, they are also bringing in a similar trend to Singapore, allowing patrons to enjoy a truly indulgent experience!

Close up of the Sins.

The series is really cute because each pair has a different name. For example, they have Greed, Wrath, Pride, Sloth, Lust, Envy and my favorite, Glutton. The dessert for Glutton is damn cute because it is called Fat Hope (bottom left of the picture above). LOL! Fat Hope is actually a rich cheesecake topped with Reese peanut butter chocolate. I am a fan of Reese chocolate, honestly!

They may look angelic and nice but the shots are the real devil. They can knock one out easily as each individual shots are pretty strong themselves. My favourite was the Jealousy Potion (the shot in yellow, with green base). It is a smoky whisky with the sweet aftertaste of Midori Melon Liquer and Mango juice. I could drink Midori Melon pure by itself! I used to have a 1 litre bottle of it at home.

Cost:
7 Devilish Desserts: $23.90
7 Sinful Shots: $49.80
7+7 Combined Platter: $68

The 7 Decadent Sins are on the menu permanently instead of being seasonal.

.

If you would like some food to fill your tummy before the desserts, I would strongly recommend you their Carbonara! The food are cooked only after you placed your orders so rest assured that you will only be served with hot and yummy food.

I can have this Carbonara everyday. No joke. This is not my first time at MEDZS but I can’t help but praise their food every time I visit them.

The Deep Sea Prawns was also one of the highly raved food that night. The prawns were really fresh and huge that night.

Rosti. If you prefer to have it crunchier, do request them to fry them a little longer 🙂

In case you’re wondering where can you find MEDZS, you can find them at

MEDZS @ Orchard Centraal
#B2-01 to 03, #B2-30 to 43

or

MEDZS @ Millenia Walk

See you there!
