I permed my fringe!

I always regret it ALOT when I cut bangs. But when I have long fringe, I want it short because they can be quite irritating at times. I always choose to cut bangs because I like one part of the growing phase – the phase where u can comb it to the side nicely.

And my readers would know that I don’t work on Monday, therefore, Monday = pampering, chilling or full of errands day. And yesterday, was the HAIR DAYYY! I delayed the whole appointment for 3 Mondays because I was too busy.

The first thing my hairstylist, Oscar, told me was “You need to colour your roots already“.

I didn’t had the intention to touch up the roots, but oh wells, why not? Since I was free and all. I love how Oscar knows what my hair needs.

After touching up the roots, I told Oscar I wanted bangs. He’s the kind who would prefer girls with long fringe than bangs because bangs would make one look like a kid. Okay, that is what happens to me all the time.

But this time, instead of going for the usual flat bangs, he permed my bangs to look like a doll. And this was something new to me because I never had permed bangs, or rather, I have never tried perming the fringe before.

He snipped it after colouring. Welcome back~ Flat bangs!

I was quite afraid that I would look like some aunty with some “curry puff” fringe with the rollers. I was really afraid of the end result. LOL.

It was a pretty quick process. He added some cream and let the rollers stayed for 15-20 minutes before washing.

And the final result after blow drying…. I don’t think that it is obvious in the picture but the fringe was rather bouncy and curled in, giving me a very dolly look. My friend saw me and asked if I would prefer “Ang Kong Kia” or “Barbie”? LOL

Yes, the hair was shorten by a lot as well. With dry hair like mine, I think it is best to keep it short. I wanted to try shorter length but I have to let it grow until April for a bridal shoot.

That’s Oscar. Okay, he didn’t smile and that made him look fierce. But in actual fact, he is quite a chatty and funny person. One nice guy really. My hair always feel well taken care of Ā when I am in his hands.

Come choose your poison at MEDZS

Alert Alert Alert!

Have you always been a fan of desserts just like me? I can skip my meals for just desserts I swear! And here in this post, is a Sinful Series of delicious desserts which are paired with refreshing cocktails.

Interesting? They are known as the seven deadly sins! MEDZS’s desserts have earned recognition of many epicureans and so to take their enjoyments up a notch, they have came up with this series.

Having personally been to Europe, I had personally experience how food establishments offers delectable desserts in the meals and they are even offering irresistible pairings of desserts and cocktails. Thanks to MEDZS, they are also bringing in a similar trend to Singapore, allowing patrons to enjoy a truly indulgent experience!

Close up of the Sins.

The series is really cute because each pair has a different name. For example, they have Greed, Wrath, Pride, Sloth, Lust, Envy and my favorite, Glutton. The dessert for Glutton is damn cute because it is called Fat Hope (bottom left of the picture above). LOL! Fat Hope is actually a rich cheesecake topped with Reese peanut butter chocolate. I am a fan of Reese chocolate, honestly!

They may look angelic and nice but the shots are the real devil. They can knock one out easily as each individual shots are pretty strong themselves. My favourite was the Jealousy Potion (the shot in yellow, with green base). It is a smoky whisky with the sweet aftertaste of Midori Melon Liquer and Mango juice. I could drink Midori Melon pure by itself! I used to have a 1 litre bottle of it at home.

Cost:
7 Devilish Desserts: $23.90
7 Sinful Shots: $49.80
7+7 Combined Platter: $68

The 7 Decadent Sins are on the menu permanently instead of being seasonal.

.

If you would like some food to fill your tummy before the desserts, I would strongly recommend you their Carbonara! The food are cooked only after you placed your orders so rest assured that you will only be served with hot and yummy food.

I can have this Carbonara everyday. No joke. This is not my first time at MEDZS but I can’t help but praise their food every time I visit them.

The Deep Sea Prawns was also one of the highly raved food that night. The prawns were really fresh and huge that night.

Rosti. If you prefer to have it crunchier, do request them to fry them a little longer šŸ™‚

Bear Bites Singapore – Damn cute food!

I have been seeing this cute paw in my instagram but has Ā no idea where can I find it! It seems that people who eat them can’t resist taking a picture of them first before putting them into their mouth – The same for me!

These cute Taiwanese Bear Paw Burger is now available in Singapore! You can find them at the heart of Orchard Road- *Scape!

Awwwwwwww. Do you know that the different colours represents different flavours?

Starting from white in anti-clockwise position:

White – Original Milk
Brown – Brown Sugar
Brown – Curry
Dark Brown – Squid Ink
Grainy Brown – Oat
Purple – Yam

All buns are freshly imported from Taiwan so that consumers can taste the original. Squid Ink is temporary out of stock due to popular demand.

It is pretty easy to order and you get to choose what kind of sauce you want to pair with the patty of your choice.

Choose your patty, either Karaage Crispy Chicken or Oishi Fish Fillet.

Next, top it up with your favourite sauce. They have 6 different flavours for you to choose – Mushroom, Sweet & Speicy Thai, Black Pepper, Tartar, Honey Mustard and Golden Cheese.

Golden Cheese and Mushroom are my top 2 choices!!

Karaage Cripsy Chicken with Black Pepper Sauce in an Original Milk bun. Yumssss.

Look at the oozing sauce!

I am more of a fish lover than a meat lover. So I had Oishi Fish Fillet instead.

My lunch that day was Oishi Fish Fillet with Golden Cheese in an Original Milk bun. I must really comment on the portion of the fish. It was huge. I could only finish 1/2 of the burger.

Not forgetting their fries. They have normal salted fries and Cheese fries. I am a sucker for fries, really.

You can complete your meal from $7.80 which includes a Bear Bites Burger, Fries and Bottled drinks. Cheese fries can be requested with an additional of charge of $1.

That’s not all. You can complete your meal with a Bear Paw Gelato!

The same for the burger, pick your choice of bun and your favourite Gelato – Chocolate, Green Tea or Caramel Biscuit.

The bun size for the Gelato is much smaller than the Burger.

For me, it’s the original milk bun again, but with Caramel Biscuit.

Come visit Bear Bites and try the cute Bear Paw Burger today!

DRx Journey, Here I come

DRx is my new sponsor and I know people will go “Your skin so good, still need to see skin doctor meh?”

Well, I got quite a few replies on that already.

My skin is nowhere near good, not much scars, acnes, pimples does not equivalent to good.

I have dehydrated skin, visible pores and sensitive skin.

Speaking of which, I had an outbreak recently due to the haze. STUPID HAZE YOU.

Majority of them appeared on the forehead while one appeared above the cheek and one below the chin. What an ugly sight!

(Creams were applied to some of the areas in this picture)

You may feel that it is not as bad as you think, but unclear face brings down one confidence, no?

That was how I was feeling during that period of time.

Luckily, I had DRx with me to overcome this ordeal.

Made my first visit there last Wednesday and my Doctor was Dr. Yanni!

She’s soooo young and pretty!

Let me feed you with some background about her:

Dr Yanni Xu obtained her MBBS from the United Kingdom and was the silver medalist from the Kingā€™s College London School of Medicine. She went on to obtain a training in general and plastics surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various hospitals in Singapore.

She is also competent in a broad range of aesthetic procedures such as Cosmetic Lasers, Botox and Injectable Fillers and continues to attend international conferences to keep her knowledge current.

Life long learning yay! Attend conferences to add on to current knowledge yay!

I was given a tour around the clinic, and they are located not just at level 16 but 14 as well!

There are various treatment rooms for different procedures like facials or other skin related treatments.

And the wide range of products they have to address the different area of concerns like the skin, body or hair.

I was prescribed with these products.

1. Milk Cleanser
2. Foaming Cleanser
3. Toner
4. Comedone Formula
5. Max-C
6. Hydrator
7. Acne Spot Lotion
8. Non-Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30+

My favourite among the lot was the hydrator and Acne Spot Lotion!

Would you believe me if I told you that all the breakouts were cleared just 2 – 3 days after the visit? It was all thanks to the Acne Spot Lotion!! I kept applying it 3 times a day diligently.

It went from 3D to 2D and then to NOTHING.

Readers of my blog would know that I always emphasize on my dehydrated skin at every product review. But you are not going to see it anymore because my skin is not as dehydrated as before! And ta dah! The hydrator work wonders!

The sunscreen was kinda good as well. Although it is slightly greasy, but it makes the application of make up smoother and stay longer. Would be good if it’s a tinted one.

These photos were taken just 4 – 5 days after the consultation. No photoshop! No editing of colours!

Check out how clear my skin is now :X (I was really fretting over the pimples the other time!)

The facial tone also looks more evenly applied now šŸ™‚

Thank you DRx! Thank you Dr. Yanni!

2x $260 Facial giveaway at Spa Elements

I went to Spa Elements recently and did some treatments which I really enjoyed a lot.

1. Chiropractic treatment
2. Tui Na Massage (which the Spa is famous for)
3. Catabolic Slimming
4. Customized facial for my skin

What makes this spa stands out from others is that they have Chiropractic treatment. Spa is not just about massage or facial. Hence, Spa Elements can treat you inside out.

I was really amazed by the chiropractic analysis as I didn’t know that there was something wrong with my structure, even when I am standing straight!!

Let me share my results with you:

From the first picture, you can see that my whole body is tilted to the right (left in the picture).

From the side, I would say that it looks okay but not exactly straight enough judging from the red line.

According to the doctor, my head is also slightly tilted infront than upright which could be due to my sitting posture when I am using the computer. I believe that I am not the only one having this problem because computer has been an essential part of almost everyone’s life!

Abnormal posture has been associated with the development and progression of many spinal conditions and injuries including: increased muscle activity and disc injury, scoliosis, work lifting injuries, sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, headaches, carpal tunnel symptoms, shoulder and ankle injuries as well as many other conditions.

It is for these health consequences you should strive to improve your spinal and postural alignment towards normal.

If your case is not that serious yet, you could perhaps visit the chiropractic doctor and let him take a look. It is always better to treat it early so that you can avoid a surgery!

.
.
.
.

The Tui Na Massage ($120 for 60 minutes) was also pretty comfortable, especially when I have been suffering from upper back ache. And I asked the lady if she could focus more on my upper back.

They have different type of oil for the massage and since mine was muscle ache and all, I picked the Calm (the bottle in blue).

I do not have to say anything else and she went “The muscles on your neck area and lower back are quite tense! Do you have a busy life?” And YUP, BINGO, I do!

The whole session loosened up my muscles and gave me a kind of ache which I love. It’s something like muscle ache after gyming but in a comfortable way. The ache didn’t last long though. Probably only 30 minutes.

Immediately after the Massage was the Catabolic Slimming.

You may go “Aiya, you’re so skinny, what is there to slim?”
But you’re wrong. Tummy fats are the hardest to get rid of!

The Catabolic Tummy Massage is at $100 for 30 minutes which involves a Colonic Massage and Meridian Infra Ray Moxibustion – stimulates specific acupuncture points of the body.

The massage can improve the body’s immune, circulatory and digestive system to restore balance and promote healthy body weight.

Benefits like reduce constipation, promote gastrointestinal motility and flattens the tummy can be achieved.

It was kinda hot at first but as my body gets used to it, it becomes warm and it was very very comfortable. It leaves the tummy with a kind of ache which lasted for half a day.

But the results was surprising. I could see a flatter tummy in just 1 session.

.
.
.
.

Next next! The facial room!!

Like the massage room, it was dim and comfortable.

I don’t really have pimples but the irritants from the haze gave me breakout!!! (Espeically on the forehead).

Though dim, you can still see pimples on the forehead (face palm) after removing the make up.

The products they used are all from natural sources and Made in France – Centella Asiatica, a magical herb from India which promotes metabolism and repair skin, both for the face and the body.

Not that I am old, but I was giving the Hazelnut Firming and Hydrating Mask for anti-aging purposes, which smelled really good!

Each facial includes: Light exfoliation and extraction, Cream mask, Acupressure Massage with Chromotherapy Micro Mist Steamer.

For my readers:

I’ll be choosing 2 lucky readers to enjoy 2 facial sessions EACH šŸ™‚
Each session is 60 minutes long and worth $130!

Levi’s 501 Interpretation at Ion Orchard

This Spring/Summer 2013 marks Levi’s 140th anniversary of its iconic 501 jeans by introducing a non-denim Levi’s 501 collection for the first time.

Breaking with tradition, yet maintaining the product’s true essence and timeless spirit, the 3 piece non-denim collection is available in true chino, chalk blue and mineral red.

To celebrate it’s 140th anniversary, they held an event at Ion Orchard with 4 celebrities namely, Felicia Chin, Xu Ya Hui, Tosh Zhang and Ian Fang.

Camwhored a bit while waiting for the event to start.

They made me look so short here. Should have worn platforms instead of flats.

Having heard Ivy Tan on 933 before, but never seen her at all, she’s so stylishhhhh!!
And she was the emcee that day.

They made their appearance by doing a catwalk on the stage and Tosh, as usual, did his signature pose. Hahahaha. He look quite friendly that day (given that his signature face is always the unhappy and cool face). But I do know that the unhappy and cool face was his “style”.

After the catwalk, they had to dress their shirtless guy up in Levi’s clothes and explain the chosen style.

Felicia Chin and her style for her model.

Ian’s model.

Ya Hui’s model. She was so cute, saying how cute and handsome her model was.

She even offered to be the pole for her model’s pole dance LOL.

I didn’t manage to get a clear shot of Tosh’s model :/

But anyway, take a look at the 4 celebrities in the picture below. I like Ya Hui’s style best but Felicia Chin’s way of wearing the shirt is pretty unique, Tosh has this boy boy look and

The jeans that all of them are wearing are Levi’s 501 design. So which one do you like best?

After dressing up all their models, the audiences had the chance to vote for their favorite look and the winning model would go back with the full set of Levi’s apparels on him!

Guess who won?

It’s non other than Ya Hui’s cute dimples model! Hahahhaha.

There’s a little contest going on.

Wear a style with a pair of 501, write a short write up and upload to http://levis501.com.sg/featured-entries.html
