Estetica Products Review

After trying out their GeneO+ Super Facial (http://maybelinesim.sg/2016/03/09/estetica-geneo-super-facial-review), I went on to try out their highly raved ést.lab products!

Here I have with me in this blog post are:

ActivCalm Hyalusol HA+ Serum ($160/ 30ml)
OptimaLift A+ Eye Contour Mask ($96/ 6 sheets)
SunShield UVA & UVB Protection SPF 50 ($72/ 30ml)

My favourite product among the entire three is the ActivCalm Hyalusol HA+ Serum because of my generally dry skin. With the weather so dry nowadays, this certainly helped me a lot!

It helps to keep my skin hydrated by retaining moisture and replenish hyaluronic acid by forming a non-occlusive layer on the skin surface that protects and moisturizes the skin inside out.

The main ingredient in ActivCalm Hyalusol HA+ Serum is Sodium Hyaluronate which is the sodium salt derived from hyaluronic acid. I am sure all skincare junkies are familiar with hyaluronic acid. If you don’t, let me feed you with a little information.

Hyaluronic acid is a major component of skin as it is present in numerous connective tissue and it is one of the components of Natural Moisturizing Factor as it can retain water and thus, increase the skin viscosity and elasticity.

Not only do I love the functions of it, I love the design of the bottle as well. I am a sucker for bottles that comes with a dropper because it makes applying skincare more convenient. The glass bottle also make it look luxurious!

The transparent droplet is the serum. It gets absorbed in really quickly (even faster than you can realize) and this is why I love this serum so much!

Just apply it twice a day – Morning and Night onto the face and you will be able to see a bouncier skin!

Next up is OptimaLift A+ Eye Contour Mask.

Each pair is priced at $16 and one shouldn’t save on any eye mask or eye cream because eyes often show the first sign of aging! You can’t get ride of fine lines totally unless you go for botox but you can prevent them!

With key ingredients like Regu-AGE PF, Haloxyl and Eyeseryl, you will be able to restore youthful radiance around the eye contours.

Regu-AGE PF is derived from purified soy, rice peptides and biotechnological produced yeast protein:

Each time after I apply the eye-mask, I tend to feel that the eyes area are more hydrated and definitely firmer. I see why it is so good in preventing fine lines!!

Now for SunShield SPF50…

Other than just a sunscreen, it has other benefits like anti-aging, moisturizing, anti-oxidant, soothing and whitening effects as well.

If you are a lazy person like me, this will certainly suit you as well!

The texture is slightly thicker so you can also use it as a concealer or a make up base. If you are just heading somewhere near, you can even skip the step of applying powder because it has a sheer coverage.

Although it looks white here, the sunscreen will change colour to match your skin tone after a few rub. Hence, do not worry about the different shades because it’s a one shade fits all sunscreen!

Ever since I tried facial done by a Japanese lady, I am super hooked to everything from Japan!

I am quite amazed with W-Washing because it actually combines the 2 stops of make up removal and facial wash in a single product, not to mention, a single step! YAY for all the lazy people, including myself!!!

It foams easily as it is a foaming cleanser but it does not dry out the skin too much as it has a cream base. It keeps the face dewy and moist.

The cleansing ingredients are able to effectively remove oil-soluble residue like make up, sebum and water-soluble. You will be happy to know that the ingredients are 100% plant based too.

The Lotion can thoroughly permeates the corneal layer. It is best used with Gel after the lotion.

It also contains generous amount of various beauty ingredients and is said to create beautiful skin with it. Sounds heavenly!

The texture is as light as water. You can’t even see much on my hand even though I poured quite a generous amount out. I really love lotions with light texture.

I really do love the Gel most in the entire range because it gives off a cooling sensation after every application.

With this gel, you can skip the steps of applying moisturizer, essence, brightening agent and even the make up base. Since Dr. Ci:Labo is known for it’s all-in-one. You can find all-in-one from Labo Labo as well!

Although it has a tinge of citrus scent but no fragrance was added. If you want to improve your skin’s elasticity, you should give this a try.

The UV-Cream is not only a sunblock, but a sunblock that can hydrate the skin and treat dark spots as well!

It can also repair DNA damage caused by UV rays and protects the skin from photo-aging.

Some sunblock can be thick and sticky, which can cause breakouts but this is gentle enough for all skin types.

Let me emphasize, good skin don’t have to come with a hefty price tag 😉

SK-II X Singapore Fashion Week

Last week, I blogged about the Google+ Live Hangout and I was really honored to be able to meet Cate Blanchett in person during the press conference. She had been using SK-II for 12 years!!

The Global Ambassador and multiple Academy Award-winning actress is really stunning and humorous in person! It was almost a once in a life time opportunity!

Celebrity Make Up Artist, Larry Yeo, gave us a demostration on how we can use the spray together with our cosmetics at the Singapore Fashion Tent right outside Ngee Ann City. Just so you know, SK-II is the official skincare partner for Singapore Fashion Week for the second year.

Chantana and I were amazed by the different products Mr. Larry Yeo used on the model – Wendy and how he dilute the cosmetics using the mist.

He left Wendy with a glowing skin using the essences and the new AurActivator CC Cream by SK-II.

I have personally tried the CC cream and I gotta say that I love it a lot! It gives off a very luminous effect and look as though my skin is at least 3 times more radiance than the days without it.

He also mentioned that he likes the Mid-Night Miracle Essence more because it gives off a minty scent which is more refreshing and it helps to perk him up.

SK-II also collaborated with the closing designer – Victoria Beckham for each of the model for a skin prep session before their hair and mekup just before they walk down the runway for her show.

New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Drink

Nose Fillers Top Up at TFA

Hello all, I am back with another update for my beauty journey! As you all know, I had nose fillers done last year. This year, I am back at The Face Aesthetic to do my fillers top up!!

And because I used Juvederm Volift last year, Dr. Zhang chose Volift again for me this year.

Fillers are amazing. They can:

– Fill lines and creases
– Volumizes, plumps and lift cheeks, jawless, temples, and many more

*Face is a little swollen at certain angles due to my wisdom tooth surgery.

Fillers is the easiest way for aesthetics enhancement!

1. Apply numbing cream and wait for 20 minutes
2. Clean the numbing cream away
3. Inject

AND DONE!

Different doctors have different perspective of beauty. Luckily I met Dr. Zhang because he prefers the nose to look naturally high. He only injected a little at the tip on the nose and the nose bridge.

I was very happy with the results. There was no bruising or pain at all. He also taught me how to massage the nose so that the fillers will not “move” out of place. I massaged the nose diligently for the first week and it was pretty obvious it was very well taken care of 😛

The second visit was for my review which was 1 week after the fillers were injected.

The nose looked perfectly fine and since we had some fillers left, he proceeded to inject them into my chin.

Now…with fillers on the chin.. Can you see the bulb on the tip of the chin? The bulb made my face looked so much smaller and sharper! Can I say that my confidence is greatly boosted?

It’s like I don’t have to do anything to my face anymore! My makeup was done within minutes because I no longer have to contour my face much.

D’Skin Lab Facial – For Him/Her

As part of my daily work to conduct business discussion with clients, I get to frequent Novena Square quite a fair bit. Having a beauty blogger girlfriend does keep my eyes more open to Beauty products and skin treatment centres within the mall. One of the stores that stood out in the higher storeys of the building is the Su Beau Derma Clinik. They are one of the leading skin treatment centres in Singapore which focus on the use of high tech medical grade equipments to achieve desirable facial results for their clients which are proven safe and effective.

This time around, I am very thankful we not only get to try out their treatments but also their latest addition, the Soft Plus (A standalone PC-powered skin assessment system. With this all-in-one machine, the dedicated therapists are able to track our skin’s pH, hydration, sebum, elasticity and melanin level within minutes!

It is a painless, fast and simple procedure. Basically, the therapist attaches a probe onto our faces. End of it all, the reports for each components are revealed! Here, you get to know whether your skin is aging faster than your true age!

M went ahead first. I like the fact that the therapists were very detailed in their analysis of our skin so as to ensure that they are able to recommend us very effective treatment thereafter.

Finally my turn after a short wait of 10 minutes!

With the analysis completed, the therapists are aware of our skin condition and proceed to recommend us our respective treatments.

We changed into our respective robes and…..

slept… well not really…

If you are wondering why I did not contribute to the photos, it is simply because the treatment was so soothing that I fell asleep during the course of it! Lol! Got a good scolding from M! But well, it was all worth it! I love visiting them after work because they would drain my entire day of exhaustion away.

I would say truthfully that even the extraction portion of my treatment was of minimum irritation. There is a reason for this! Later did I realise that the extraction process was not simply done by any Tom, Dick & Harry. Also, certainly not my therapist herself. For this task, they have an extraction specialist! They take on a long, ardous training before being certified as an extraction expert.

After the extraction, our face felt SO SO much cleaner. M had an extra mask to help in the extraction due to the application of make up on a daily basis. She did the hydration facial which she enjoyed thoroughly.

Her feedback was ” It was one of the best facial so far! The face felt so smooth and clean because all the black/white heads were removed in just one session. The foundation felt easier to apply because the face was smooth and the fine lines were not as visible as before as the skin is deeply hydrated”.

For me, It was my virgin experience in eyebrow shaping! I think my face look neater now and the skin looked more radiant. That is also why you see quite a fair bit of selfie in my Instagram (@james_awyong) recently 😛

Another feature of the treatment that impressed me was the fact that their therapists were well-versed with good massage techniques. After the facial treatment portion, my therapist went on to give me a rejuvenating shoulder, neck and head massage. See! That’s why i couldn’t escape the slumber!

Thumbs up for their services and skills. I personally hate pushy people, the staffs were neither pushy nor arrogant. Good job!
