Summer with #belif

Sponsored

Summer almost here and I am definitely HATING the sunny weather because I prefer to stay fair and cold.

I hate dark spots, freckles, harmful uv rays and whatever you can think of. I also think I am easily one of the few that has over 20 bottles of sunblock at home that I use concurrently because of the sun. It only take me 2-3 weeks to finish a bottle of sunblock!!

Being a sun-hater and a belief lover, how can I ever miss a Summer Retreat with belief?!

The event was held at Yoga Co. and yup, a yoga class was conducted for the beauty bloggers.

Sadly, my period came and I was having terrible cramps so I gave the yoga a missed but I took the opportunity to try out the different summer essentials belief has!!

Look at the circle plate in the middle? That is my ultimate favourite!! Other than being a sunblock in matte powder form, I actually use it as a touch up for my make up (to hide away the shine after an entire day.

Bet you guys didn’t now, it is advisable to apply sunblock every 4-6 hours once when you are out, and for the ladies, if you have make up on, it is impossible to remove everything when you are outside, so this Almighty Sun Power SPF 50+ PA+++ ($43) works best for us!

Texture: Matte and Light.

Left to right:

Almighty Sun Power SPF 50+ PA+++, UV Protector fresh sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++, UV Protector multi sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++, UV Protector Leports shaking sunscreen SPF 50+ PA+++

All of them are NOT oily or sticky at all. But first, let me start with my favourite other than the power. I like Leports shaking sunscreen ($54) because it is waterproof and it is suitable for people who do sports. Your sweat or rain can’t wash it away. It is enriched with antioxidants from Noni extract which prevents any form of skin irritation with anti-inflammatory benefits.

The differences between fresh sunscreen ($33) and multi sunscreen ($33) is that the multi sunscreen has whitening and makeup base effects. The non-tinted and tinted sunscreen. Both contains Molokhia extract that promotes skin healing while maintaining skin clarity.

Now now now…. Back to the first picture where you saw all the summer essentials at one glance. The Body Bombaaaaaaaa ($42)!!!

I LOVE THE EXOTIC ZESTY Lemon Verbena herb scent!! I was telling the trainer that my boyfriend would definitely steal this away from me. He is a huge huge huge fan of belif ever since his first bottle of aquabomb. The Comfrey Leaf extract helps to soothes your skin (body) concern while hydrating the skin at the same thing. Although it hydrates, but don’t be even think of applying it to the face. Your facial skin requires more than this! Heh. Take a small amount and massage it to your clean body after a warm shower or any time, any day.

Heh. Now I can conquer the sun without fears. Thank you #belif for being so thoughtful!!

You can find belif almost anywhere but I am more frequently seen in their stores at Wisma Atria #B1-64, Plaza Singapure, Jurong Point. Also, find them at Junction 8, Suntec City or even Tangs! 🙂

Summer Party’s Necessities

Summer is here! Are you ready for it? What is your summer must-have other than beach wear and sun dresses?

Do remember to take care of your hair, skin and body when you’re enjoying yourself at the beach. Apply sunblock, moisturize the skin and the scalp!

Let me introduce you some of the latest products from Tsubaki, Senka and Aqualabel.

Closer friends know that I WILL NEVER step out of my house without sunblock (unless I am supposed to go for some skin related consultation or facial). Sunblock is basically my necessity. It is more important than applying make up on my face.

I use all kind of sunblock, from cream based, to gel based, and to water based. Water based is always my first choice in any facial products.

Senka now has a new water based sunblock! The Mineral Essence UV which is made with 100% mineral water with strong UV protection and anti-aging care.

Yup, you heard me right. it has anti-aging care as it contains Coenzyme Q10 and Hyaluronic Acid to keep skin looking youthful, resilient and firm even when you are protecting your skin from the sun. As it is water based, it does not leave your skin greasy. It leaves a silky smooth finish with no residue and is resistant to sweat and sebum.

My pre-make up base is usually essence followed by sunblock. So this works pretty well as a pre-make up base too. Only retailing at $17.90 at selected Watsons stores.

Next is the Aqualabel Whitening Jelly Essence. The texture is really jelly-liked and has 4 functions.

Lotion, Emulsion, Serum and Astringent.  I like it’s astringent effect as it can minimizes pores that tends to dilate or sad. Open pores is one of the first world problems for all ladies out there.

It firms the skin affected by dilated pores and keeps moisture for many house with the skin protected by the veil of the highly-permeating jelly. This is already available in Watsons at $29.90!

And TSUBAKI has launched another new product in it’s Head Spa range! The Head Spa Sparkling Serum!  Probably my favourite product in the entire event!

It is a leave-in scalp essence that delivers a range of Head Spa effects from moisturizing, softening to stimulation blood circulation for a healthy and moisturized scalp that leaves no sticky feel after application.

I like the product because it is convenient and cheap! Hair tonics or whatsnot are usually costly. This bottle of Serum only cost $18.90. You can have fun while applying it as it will produce the sparkling sound when it comes in contact with your hair and your palm.

It contains ingredients like Natural Essential Oil Blend, Camellia Flower Extract and Camellia oil. They can help to moisturize and soften the scalp while enhancing the hair shine.

What about your summer must-have?! Care for a share? 🙂

Kate Tokyo Spring/Summer 2014

Japan’s Number 1 Makeup Brand, KATE, is now known as KATE TOKYO. This is a tribute to it’s birthplace of Tokyo. KATE’s motto was “no more rules” in the world of make up – there is no limit and no guidelines to being stylish.

Now, in addition to its new name, KATE TOKYO also embraces its unique Japanese identity with its choice of spokes-model Japanese actress, Meisa Kuroki. For Spring/Summer 2014, KATE will be launching 11 products, featuring the hero KATE SPOTLIGHTING SHADOW.

There are available in five colors and are retailing at $27 each.

The eyeshadow contains pure Light Reflection Pearl Powder. When they are combined with a perfectly calculated oil solution, the oil-pearl formula will give off a sophiscated and unprecedented radiance for a glamorous look.

As compared to regular pearl powder eyeshadow, the light reflection pearl powder will give a shine with high translucency that creates lustrous captivating eyes with the radiance of clear spotlights.

These palettes also do great for beginners because all palette comes with “instructions”.

Look closer and you will be able to see the purpose of each colour. Before applying makeup, the most important thing is the make up base. The same for the eye too. Start off with the base colour and spread the shade over the ENTIRE eyelid – do not worry about it being too overpowering because the base color is usually the lightest.

Note: Always start off with the lightest shade to the darkest, followed by the Glossy Light to complete the look. If you’re intending to try out the KATE TOKYO’s palette, it’s Base Color > Medium Color > Dark Color > Glossy Light.

Some people likes puffy eyes, or rather, aegyo sal which describes the bags of fat under the eyes. You can also apply some of the Base Colour of the spotlighting shadow to create a more girly look.

I used the pink palette for the eye makeup below.

Although it may have pearl powder inside, but it can still create a natural day look. Japanese people quite like pearl shades and this is probably why all the shades are pearly. Take a look of the actual over all. The eyes look more define and I received quite a few compliments for the eye makeup that day!

The shine lasted me for an entire day of work. Value for money! $27 for an all-in-one palette!

Other new products include a new colour for KATE COLORCIOUS DIAMOND, KATE EYEBROW COLOR N, LIMITED EDITION KATE SUPER SHARE LINER S, KATE QUICK REMAKE LIQUID, KATE HIGH GRADE COVER POWDER AND KATE MINERAL LOOSE FOUNDATION.

I wanna try their Cover Powder next!

The collection is available from May 2014 at selected Guardian Pharmacy, OG, John Little, Nishino Pharmacy, Sasa Cosmetics and Watsons.

Natural Beauty Basic

Leading Japanese fashion label, Natural Beauty Basic made its debut in 1996 in Tokyo.

And now, in Singapore, they have launched their latest Spring 2013 collection! The collection takes a spin with contrasting colours and fabrics in a single desig and works exquisitely with the use of simple and modern optical art motifs.

The Spring 2013 collection also features designs with an oriental touch, inspired by kimono dresses with elements such as wide belts resembling kimono obi, and feminine details such as sheer fabric and nude colours.

I personally like the floral pants in the picture below. One can never go wrong with florals for spring. Instead of bold and loud prints, go for understated monochrome pieces to add just the right amount of edge to any outfit.

Really really like earthy warm colours. And even in pictures, they look comfortable when worn.

Each piece of clothing is specially selected from high quality fabric that is resistant to wear and tear and yet so lightweight and comfortable.

Accessories are also available to cater to the different outfits.

Bags, who doesn’t love them?

The orange one is so so adorable!!

This was what I wore there (I had exams before that so I rushed like mad!)

Specially dressed in simple to match the name “Natural Beauty Basic” 🙂

There was a little contest, that is to wear mix and match the outfit from their clothes/accessories/shoes in 20 minutes and the 2 winners will walk away with the entire outfit.

My pick was the Synthetic Leather Jacket ($109) with a knith ($59) and a floral scarf (49) underneath. Matched the top with a pair of warm coloured pants ($79) and ended it off with their straw bag ($79) for a Spring summer look. I didn’t match their shoes because I think my wedges are suitable for the look.

The scarf is made from 100% Acrylic and pants, 82% Cotton, 15% Cellulose and 3% Polyurethane.

I find them very very affordable for such quality and comfortable wear – Well, pants could easily cost over a hundred right?

Really love the outfit I matched with. So camwhored :X

Look as if I was going on a holiday to somewhere cold~~~

In the end, Jessica (Shiberty) amd me won!! YAY!! I get to keep the entire outfit (except for the bag).

I was happy like mad but I had to act calm. I had been lusting for the jacket ever since I first saw it when the emcee was introducing the clothes to us. Hehehehe.

Other than their clothes, they also provided a lip and eye makeover by Lunasol for us. So thoughtful of them.

Food after the contest to feed the hungry us 😀

So love this polaroid that I made boyfriend keep it in his wallet. HAHAHAHAA.

Natural Beauty Basic is located at:

Takashimaya Level 3, Ngee Ann City

BATA Spring Summer 2013 Collection

Bata Singapore unveiled their Spring Summer Collection 2013 which includes bags and shoes. Just like their usual style, the new collection is also comfortable, fashionable and affordable.

I believe Bata is a very familiar brand to Singaporeans although they are originated from Czech Republic more than a hundred years ago.

I would say that I grew up with Bata because Bata is my only shoe shop for my different outfits when I was still a kid. I used to buy my Bubblegum toddler’s and school shoes from them.

But Bata has now changed. They are not only known for school shoes. Just so you know, their designers keep up with the trend by playing with the colours and design for every of their collection.

We were first introduced to the different styles for both men and women.

Now, let us take a look at some of their Spring Summer Collection for 2013.

I bet the bloggers who attended the event were too lost and have no idea which to pick because there were too many to choose from!

For the guys;

For formal to dinners of PU leather. One thing about PU, it is CHEAP and available in different shades.

The more premium collection of authentic leather.

For the casual.

It was love at first sight with the red one and I almost wanted to pick this for my brother (Picture don’t do justice to the shoe).

I love simplicity too.

There were quite a few bags available as well from for business to casual.

This is one of their briefcase from the collection.

For the ladies;

Likewise, new bags and shoes are available.

I kind of like the combination of the colours for the pair on the left.

Isn’t this cute?

Ballerina flats of different colours to match with the season and you can never go wrong with them.

One of the black studded sling bag which some of the bloggers picked.

My pick at the end 🙂

EXTREMELY love this pair because of it’s simple yet trendy design and it is made of real leather.

The plus point for this is that my feet don’t even hurt after walking for more than 8 hours in them despite a little height. That’s how comfortable it is!!

I can hardly find shoes with height that allows me to walk for more than 5 hours. Not that there aren’t, but it’s just rare (for me because my pain tolerance is pretty low).

I also picked a bag for my dad for his work because his bag kind of give way the other day and I saw something that he might like!! I was labeled a Daddy’s girl by some bloggers that night. HAHAHA.

A contest will be up on Bata Singapore‘s Facebook page for the look that we had created.

Remember to cast a vote for me when it is up okay? 😀 I WILL REMIND YOU!

Outfit of the day:
Top: Labellavita
Bandage skirt: Can’t remember
Watch: Aigner
Tote: Coach

The Bata Spring Summer Collection 2013 will be out in stores from 1st of March onwards. Happy shopping!
