Vichy Ideal White

Had tea with Team Vichy for their Ideal White range. Thank you Sugar (Elaine) for bringing me along!

I am so so so going to miss her when she is in confinement 🙁

Anyway, the launch was for their New Ideal White which boosts the skin metabolism to reach fairer skin.

Like any part of our body, metabolism starts to deteriorates as we age. And when the metabolism slows down, cell repair = skin repair and collagen production slows down as well. The damage can be irreversible or reversible. Dark spots, dull or yellow skin tone can also surface.

Vichy Ideal White to the rescue!!! The scientist investigated on the mechanisms of pigmentation disorders and found out that the cause of it was the metabolic flow of melanin. 3 stages to take note:

1) Melanin production
2) Melanin diffusion
3) Melanin expulsion

In a nut shell, if your cells are loaded with melanin, dark spots will be more visible and it can worsen the effects of pigmentation.

And what does Ideal White do? The new Metabolic Whitening complex works well with the 3 stages natural life cycle while targeting the other influencers of pigmentation disorders.

The complex is made up of:

– PhE-Resorcinol: Powerful whitening agent. Lighten pigment blotches, imperfections and even out skin tone

– Ellagic Avid: Antioxidant, whitening. anti-pollution and anti-inflammatory agent. Defend skin against sun.

– Adenosine: Anti-aging and whitening.

– LHA: Exfoliation, increase skin renewal, aids in desquamation by accelerating the expulsion of melanin from the skin. Smooths and refines skin.

I have yet to try all the products yet but I am hoping to do a review on them soon.

Some of my current take of the products so far, they are pleasantly scented. I can’t describe what do they smell like but I pretty much like the scent of it.

The essence kind of a cream base but it has a watery texture and nowhere near greasy.

The Ideal White Whitening Re-Plumping Gel Cream was one of my favourite that afternoon because I love gelish products. It doesn’t look too rich for my skin to cause any breakout and offers whole day hydration and flawless luminosity.

The range will be available in Derma Center (Westgate), Guardian and Unity from March 2015 onwards. However…. as they are Watsons exclusive for the first few weeks, you can already find them in selected Watsons!

L’Oreal Paris latest hair innovations

Last year, I was featured in Juice Magazine (July) for L’Oreal Paris EverStrong.

And this year, they have come up with EveryStrong Thickening range as well as the new Extraordinary Oil + UV Protect!

We all know that hair ends are often drier and dull looking as compared to the upper part of the hair. However, do you know that our scalp also requires the same attention that you give to your hair ends?

I’ve been using the thickening range for the second week now.

I was quite skeptical of the word thickening because there are a lot of shampoo which you can find in the market, but priced at a higher selling price when you see the word thickening. But after using this for weeks, I can feel cleaner and healthier scalp. Healthier scalp also leads to hair growth and healthier looking hair.

Just like what you see on the bottles, they are 100% sulphate-free, silicon-free and paraben-free.  The EverStrong range consists of shampoo ($14.90), condition ($14.90), as well as the hair tonic ($29.90).

The thickening tonic is to be sprayed onto your scalp, directly to the roots, after you towel dry your hair. You can massage the sprayed area with fingers and no rinsing is needed after the spray. It leaves a cooling sensation after each spray as it contains Rosemary and Mint. Mint is well known for it’s follicle stimulant properties.

The difference is that it has added colour protection now! It instantly makes your hair soft and shiny.

Walk out onto the street, 8 out of 10 people have coloured hair, so this would definitely come in handy for most of us!

Anyway, anyone can indulge in the extraordinary oil whether you have dry, frizzy, curly, straight or thin hair.

Photoshoot with L’Oreal and Juice Magazine

I was approached to do a shoot for L’Oreal latest hair care range for Juice Magazine July edition.

The latest series has 4 new ranges like EverSleek, EverStrong, EverPure and EverCreme. This also meant that there were 4 selected bloggers for the shoot. 1 representing each range.

This series is quite special as it contains no sulphate. To add on, Sulphate is found in your cleaning agents you use at home like dish washer or detergent. Yes, OMGGGGGG!!! Therefore, it can also damage your hair!! Who on earth use cleansing agents on the hair?!?!?!?!

I am currently trying the Overnight Hair Repair Treatment (extremely right) right now.

My make up done by the Make-Up Artist for the shoot. Much thicker than my usual make up but it actually made the face look more glow-y. I need to learn how!

Loreal Paris; Extraordinary Oil

Backed by years of research and L’Oreal’s supreme expertise in hair, they have now come out with a hair oil that is suitable for all hair type! It can richly nourish and intensely protect the hair from damage while providing brilliant shine, sumptuous smoothness and an ultra-lightweight and non-greasy finish.

Retailing at only $23.90 for 100ml, this bottle of hair oil sure do wonders.

Everyone has the mindset that hair oils are heavy and greasy. It can causes hair loss, oily hair and etc. But that doesn’t apply to this.

Extraordinary oil is created using 6 flower extracts – Flax, Tiare, Rose, Lotus, Chamomile and Marticaria. The combination of these oil nourishes and protects hair for a silky, shiny finish that is soft to the touch and light as oil.

Clearly, I had my fair share of doubts at first.

The demonstrated how nourishing the hair oil was. You can apply it for pre-heating treatment as a layer of protection and post treatment for a finishing touch.

Straightening the hair after application. True enough, the application site look more smoother.

We applied it to the hair as well and even used the oil blotter to test how oil it was. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much oil on the blotter.

When I first pumped it, I was like, “Woah, this is so so oily”, I went ahead to put on my pony tail anyway.

It was 20 minutes later when I realized “EH? I didn’t wipe my hands after the application. How come my palm isn’t oily at all?”

It goes to show how well the oil was absorbed. Could have been absorbed faster, but I didn’t even realize it.

Had a little catch up with Shine but nah, it’s not enough!

Next time when I am married, I wanna stay as pretty as her. I don’t wanna be a Huang Lian Po!

Anyway, anyone can indulge in the extraordinary oil whether you have dry, frizzy, curly, straight or thin hair.

Because it’s so light-weight, L’Oreal suggested to start with 2 – 3 pumps per application and to layer on as needed.

PS: Start applying from you hair ends first.

Other than the pre and post heating treatments, you can also apply it
– 10 minutes before shampooing and conditioning to prepare the hair,
– before blow drying on toweled-dried hair to protect the hair from damage before styling,
– throughout the day, as a finishing touch that leaves hair with a glowing shine and sumptuous smoothness without weighing it down
