It’s already December in a blink of an eye and Christmas is approaching! Are you wrecking your brain thinking of a worthy gift for your Dad, brother or nephew with that dapper, stylish gentlemanly style?

Well, fret not ladies! I am here to give you some tips 😉 As much as I do interchange between various styles on a daily basis depending on the occasions/events I attend, the preppy gentlemanly style is exactly the one I adore most.

‘Maserati’ Watch





For those who are not well versed with supercar brands nor recognize the ubiquitous Trident logo, ‘Maserati’ is a well-renowned Italian luxury car maker. To provide you some context how expensive a Maserati car is, a typical Maserati can be priced easily above SGD400K.

The watch I have selected amidst the wide collection is the ‘Fuoriclasse’ collection in Black / RoseGold Series.





Inspired by its sporty yet elegance style, the special shape of the case mimics that of an original design with grille and bolts on the lugs. This multi-function model comprises of a 42-mm diameter steel casing with rosegold PVD finishing, contrasting against a Matte Black PVD finished bezel.

One reason I picked this design is because of its excellent colour combination and classiness! Look at how the black dial brings out the rose gold details, against which the chronograph counters stand out. Attention goes all the way down to its strap which is a black printed leather strap.


To many, a newly-launched watch series born out of a luxurious car brand might not entice them especially if they are an avid, long time watch collector such as myself. Frankly as a humble collector of Rolex, Omega, Panerai and other watches, I did not think much of owning a Maserati watch at the start. Nonetheless, the attention to detail and technical attention that Maserati dedicates to their cars is clearly reflected here in its chronograph which is the reason that moved me to go for this brand & particular design!

This watch certainly grows on its bearer. One other feature I like about this watch is its versatility.

BABY-G turns 20!!

I know BABY-G has been around for the longest time but what? They are 20 this year?! To celebrate their 20th anniversary this year, a new Baby-G BGD-500 range will be released! They are also packed in an exclusive 20th anniversary box.

The yellow one reminds me of BumbleBee in Transformer!

The party was celebrated at Avalon after a kick-off party in Seoul, Korea, earlier this year with K-pop sensation, Girls Generation.

Although it was a Girl’s Party, I brought James along with me.

The moment we entered Avalon, we were greeted by the different models of BABY-G and their transformation over the last two decades.

BABY-G is indeed a durable watch that is able to withstand shock and water resistance. The different designs and colours also help one portrays a younger and lively image.

You can also see some of the latest models in the pictures below. First up is G-LIDE BGD-180 ($149) which has contrasting colors. Perfect for surfers as it provides informations about tide.

Next, the new G-LIDE BGA180 ($179) that is suitable for skateboards, surfers and ladies who do vigorous sports. It also has a function that acts as a thermometer that can be easily operated through the use of a direct button.

BG-6903 ($139) is perfect for night runs because it includes an auto EL light that automatically illuminates with just a tilt of the wrist!

I would personally prefer white watches more than the coloured watches.

White goes well with almost anything!

Mr Shunichi Watanabe, the GM of Casio Singapore said “This is an important year for Casio as we are celebrating both the 20th Anniversary of BABY-G and the 40th Anniversay of Casio’s timepiece. BABY-G is not only known for its shock and water resistance, but also stands for a lifestyle that incorporates fashion, sports, music and the arts which always shines through in all BABY-G designs.

If you haven’t realize, they had transformed from “Tough & Cute” to a new and innovative “Tough & Cool” concept.

The show also demonstrated how different BABY-G watches can be incorporated into our daily outfits. They can be girly or sporty. It was indeed an eye-opener.

The happy me went home with a BABY-G that night! Thank you Casio for the generosity!

What you wear on your wrist tells a lot about you. Having more than a dozen of watches, I still do not know which is my favorite as I tend to dress up very differently. I don’t have a specific style or liking for any brands/styles.

Visited WSI last Wednesday and they left me so spoilt with their brands!

You don’t have to crack your brain because they got everything sorted out for you.

The brands that they carry includes: DKNY, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Emporio Armani, Karl Lagerfeld, Diesel, Armani Exchange, Fossil, Michael Kors and etc.

For a moment, I thought I was in a land of happiness. I was dazed from looking at all the watches because it was so hard to pick one when they were all so tempting.

You know, I thought I was going to end up going home with either Marc by Marc Jacobs or Michael Kors but…..

+SWISS carries the watches from the slightly higher end as the watches are all Swiss made. Emporio Armani has just entered the line together with Zodiac and Michele.

I like the rectangle clock face from Michele. As they are Swiss made, the price are slightly steeper due to the difference in quality as compared to non-swiss made watches.

I liked the Micheal Kors watch at the top right. The entire face was BLING!! Everything was so pretty, I seriously can’t even…… Anyway Jeanette Aw picked that watch as well!

And then the little Daddy by Diesel. They have big Daddy and even bigger ones! Nat Ho picked the biggest one. Too chic, too stylish. But I have a wrist too small for it :/

I ended up with these 3. I liked the strap on Micheal Kors, it reminded me of the leather on my Prada Wallet. The leather was super durable!

So I bottom my choices down to the two Karl Lagerfeld below.

Same design, but it’s either glossy or matt. Both of them were ridiculously attractive. They had their own unique style. I figured out that the glossy one would be more chic so….. Just so you now, both the matt and glossy are retailing at $419 each 🙂

My pick, along with the other watches I bought that night.

The fossil MEN watch is retailing at $209 while the Adidas at $110.

I can’t really step out of my house without a watch since Secondary days and I enjoy buying watches. I shop for dainty girly watches as well as big, manly watches. As my profile in My Fat Pocket has already said, I am a chameleon of sort. I can be really girly and really boyish. It all depends on my mood.

Recently, I was introduced to Aries Gold. I have personally seen bloggers blogging about it and my love at first sight was their watches in rose gold. I practically love all of them as it really isn’t easy to look for a rose gold watch anywhere. They are always Gold, Silver, or Black. DULL. I have quite a handful of silver/black watches myself.

Aries Gold, a Switzerland brand was designed and built to last. The watches are coupled with fashion elements and Swarovski elements for female watches.

One unique point of this watch is that IT IS REALLY AFFORDABLE. Why do I say so? Because of their quality. The glass on the clock face is made of Scratch Proof Sapphire Crystals and the straps are solid stainless steel (which gives them some weight and your heart some assurance) instead of the hollow steel.

Any watch with such quality could easily cost you at least $400 and above. But for Aries Gold, the range is mostly between $199 to $328 (WITH ADDITIONAL 30% DISCOUNT RIGHT NOW). So one watch would only cost you $140 and above?

They have a wide variety catering to meet the targeted age group of 21 to 35.

Shall we take a look at some of my favourite pieces first?

I was given a piece of my choice to keep but they were all too pretty that I had no idea which to pick. Totally. I just felt like I want everything.

Take a look at this series, you can change the frame anytime you want. Both the plain and the Swarovski crystals frame are included.

This was actually rose gold in colour but I guess the flash was too bright. And this was what attracted me first when I saw the picture on their Facebook page.

The pair below doesn’t allow you to change the frame ring but it has it’s own beauty as well.

Other than female watches, they also design a variety of men’s watches.

You can have it sporty or classy.

After looking at more than a hundred designs of watches, I have decided on a men’s watch. YES. I didn’t expect myself to give up on the female designs either. I thought I would go back with a female rose gold watch.

I wanted this design in Dark brown instead of black (with the rose gold steel as design). But that colour is already sold out island wide!! And I would have to wait for months if I really want it. Some designs are really so popular that they had already restocked it more than a couple of times.

You can also match it with a tea party dress. Don’t be afraid that it would be too loud. It’s the combination of sweetness and masculine that makes you look sophisticated. You could also stand out from the common crowd.

Mix and Match – That’s my point.

I actually have a very very very small wrist (but it looks big in pictures). They are so small that they are no bigger than a Primary school kid’s wrist. No Joke! As usual, even the minimum would be too big for me. The team helped me shorten it all the way (probably by removing some of the parts that were not supposed to be removed) within a day and sent it over the next day.

I went to their retail outlet and got another Men’s watch! (I also reserved another female watch in rose gold as they had no stock for the designed I wanted when I was there) I might just end up with only more and more watches.
