Christmas Party with Fairprice

Christmas means parties and parties means drinks, food and snacks.

All these items can add up to a whopping mid 3-digits depending on how big your party is. Of course, there might be Christmas sale and all. But what is the best place to shop for all the food stuffs?

1. A huge variety of drinks to choose from – Wines, Champagne, Beer, Juices, Soft drinks
2. Shelves and shelves of snacks & finger food – Chocolates, Cheese, Nuggets, chips
3. Cooked food – Roast beef, Sushi platter, Roast Turkey, Ham
4. Desserts – Fruits, Cakes, Log cakes.

So where? Where is this one-stop-for-all store that is available almost everywhere?!

It’s FAIRPRICEEE FINEST!!!

The promotions will run from 6 November to 31 Dec.

An on-going promotion:

Spend a minimum of $30 in one receipt to qualify for their Christmas Lucky Draw where you will stand a chance to win a:

– Personal chef service
– A trip for 2 to Santa Claus Village, Finland
– A pair of luxury watches
– A staycation in Ocean Suite at Beach Villa, Resorts World Sentosa
– $1000 worth of FairPrice Gift Vouchers (60 winners)

You can also double your chances by using OCBC Plus! Visa Cards.

They had also kindly sent some of their items over to help me prepare for my Christmas party!!

You know when I received the huge log cake, I was like “Is it going to be nice? I think cakes from bakeries might taste nicer.” Then I had a slice of it for my breakfast next day and I went “OMG IT IS SO CHOCOLATEY. I LIKEY.”  Not kidding about the taste. I am pretty sure it taste so much better than some bakeries. The Premium Chocolate Fudge Log Cake only cost $35.80. That’s the best thing because a log cake will easily cost you $45 and above for the same size (or even smaller).

Other cakes are available as well like the Snowy Blueberry Christmas Cake or the Caramel Hazelnut Log Cake ($25.80). I might just get the Hazelnut one for my Christmas cause it sounds yummy enough already.

I gave the entire Black Pepper Rib-Eye Roas Beef to James because he is a meat lover. This entire chunk here is at least 3x larger than what you can imagine here. Like the log cake, it was flavorful! Buying it off the store and placing it on the dining table sounds like an easy task! On top of it, it comes in a convenient cooler bag!

What is alcohol without a party? I had a Long Flat Merlot which retails at $22.50/bottle that displays the aroma of dark berries and green olives. I am more of a sweet person so I would pick the breezer anytime! It comes in a pack of 3 assorted flavors. 6 bottles for only $19.50.

The americans like it with chips and cheese. Food for Friends Tortilla Chips make great nibbles for both the adults and children. I call this the healthier way of snacking because it is made from non-GMO corn and natural oil. Comes in different flavors too.

Tartare Aperifrals are cheese with a variety of spices including red pepper and whatsnot. Great for pre or post-dinner snack.

Other than food, they have assorted Christmas table top ornaments to brighten up your dining table and house too.

What was mentioned here is barely a quarter of the promotions that they have. Please please please head down to Fairprice Finest yourself to see what you can grab for the kids, or a cosy dinner, or even for a party.

I hope your tastebuds are as delighted as mine!

YUMS!!

On TV again!: Ramen Kagetsu Arashi

I believed this is not some new news to the readers because you guys might have already seen it before me. Yup, the TVC interview for Ramen Kagetsu Arashi is out on national TV already. If you haven’t watch it, I think you can catch it in the evening on either Channel 8 or 5.

They are ranked third most popular ramen chain in Japan with more than 290 outlets worldwide. And within a short span of 6 months, Ramen Kagetsu Arashi had already opened 3 outlets in Singapore! – Star Vista, Cathay and Tampines 1.

You can customise the flavours and add oomph to your dishes with the add-ons they have. One of it which caught my attention was the garlic where you can crush the garlic yourself with their unique garlic press tool.

The most popular broth is the Garlic Tonkotsu which bought fame to the restaurant. Now, they have done it again.

Two new exclusive dishes were introduced – Ginjiro ramen and Itameshi dry curry rice.

The Ginjiro ramen is a laborious dish but is well worth the effort. Pork bones are simmered over long hours so that their natural sweetness can be extracted, Dried bonito (the flakes that you can find in your Tako Balls), kelp and several ingredients are then tossed to achieve that flavoursome goodness.

Overall, this Kagetsu Ramen original is rich in collagen and a definite must-try.

I like the broth so much that I wouldn’t mind a second bowl. I don’t even care about the calories anymore. I asked about the egg, it wasn’t served with runny egg because it might affect the taste of the broth. For people who love runny eggs, you can order the egg as a side, just like what I did.

You know, I am feeling all hungry again as I type this. Or maybe… I just need to sip a few spoonful of the broth..

Itameshi dry curry rice. Although it says curry, but it is not spicy at all.

A blend of spices lends a moderately spicy punch; even those who cannot take spicy food will relish the perfumed mixture. The rice is slightly scorched to create a crispy texture and smoky aroma.

Resting atop the rice is a wonderfully prepared egg, fragrant and cooked to perfection.

Nic, my partner for the TVC shoot. We loved the food so much that we just had to order everything on the menu.

I ordered 2 bowls of ramen for myself that day. Not kidding yo! Besides that, other side dishes were ordered which the rest of them on the table happily finished them because I could no longer take in anymore food.

T commented that he really love this.

Gyoza, which was mixed with a DIY sauce dip that night.

The gyoza was filled with juicy meat filing on the inside and crispy pastry skin on the outside. The skin is specially imported from Japan and even after frying, it retains its crispiness and chewy texture.

T, Nic and me!

Happy boys and girl with happy tummy.

Good food! New found ramen stall…… added to my list of favourite restaurants.

A trip to River Safari

Got lucky and went to visit Jia Jia and Kai Kai as a blogger.

The first thing that came into my mind was “PANDA BAO, I AM COMING!”

River Safari is Asia’s first and only river-themed wildlife park, and is the newest addition to Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s portfolio of award-winning parks.

There are over 300 animal species including 43 endangered species. Yes, endangered!!

I don’t know how my camera managed to take this shot but I like it a lot!

This is the Alligator Gar which is able to grow up to 3m in length and 100kg in weight.

And if you’re wondering how they are fed, it’s almost “handfed” by the zoo keeper!

This is perhaps the “baby” version. It was quite small and it wouldn’t move AT ALL.

And now this, I feel frighten at the look of it. It was so so close up and extremely huge.

I could imagine him eating me. LOL.

This sign is ultra cute! LOL. Shut up!!

I love how carefree the fishes swim in the water. I yearn to be as free as them (though I know they are kept in a tank here, but at least they are still kinda free).

Meet Mekong Giant Cat Fish!

But in reality, we are smaller than the boys 🙁

Lesser Adjutant Stork who wouldn’t come down. Bro, don’t be so cool yo!

“They told me not to move so that I can camouflage like the rocks so that I WILL, I WILL ROCK YOU”

And perhaps…… The long awaited journey to the GIANT PANDA FOREST!!

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ANIMAL. MORE THAN THE PANDAS!!

It’s called the Red Panda but erm, it doesn’t look like a panda at all. LOL.

SO CUTE. It reminds me of my little puppy I have at home. So huggable and warm. *pats*

This is what both Jia Jia and Kai Kai each eat for every meal.

Nope, don’t have to rub your eyes. Yes, they feed on 20kg of bamboo each meal. OMG?!

Okay, that’s Kai Kai napping. MOVEEE! You need to exercise!!

William and me outside the Mama Panda Kitchen waiting for our food. *panda bao panda bao~

(Credits: William)

Hi Panda, you look so sad! That’s my bao bao, who is currently residing in my tummy.

And my set meal! So cute! The bottle which serves the drink can be brought home.

Us with all the cute food again! (Credits: William)

After dining was the visit to The Amazon Flooded Forest.

The forest is approximately over 10m of water with viewing winder of 22m by length and 4m by height. It can get submerged in up to 15m of water every year during the rainy season.

Wander into the depths of the multi-level exhibit to witness the amazing underwater habitat for creatures such as the arapaima and the river otter.

Lucky you!! Eye feast for you if you’re a fan of underwater life!

Okay, now I can’t make up my mind if my favourite is the Red Panda or this perky butt Otter.

I wanna hug the Red panda and smack the otter’s butt.

(both of them reminds me of my puppy too much!)

The admission fee of the Soft opening (right now) is only at $25 for adults and $15 for children between 3 – 12 years old while senior citizen is only at $12.50.

Student prices are also available. For student below 13 years at $8 and over 13 years at only $16 each.
