Port over to Circles.Life with Circles Switch

Why? You may ask.

Just because all the cool kids seem to be using Circles.Life right now and they seem to have more than enough data!!

I always end up using 15-16GB worth of data every month and I start panicking by the 2nd week of the month. 🙁

The real reason why I am blogging about this is because of a try-before-you-buy service from Circles.Life – Circles Switch!

Now I have my chance to test out Circles.Life for free. Yay!!!

And if your contract is about to end, you should read on. All you need is:

An active post-paid number from another telco (e.g. your existing mobile phone plan that has a monthly billing)

A credit card

What exactly is Circles Switch?
Circles Switch is designed for people with contracts that are about to end. All you have to do is sign up for Circles Switch here, pick a temporary number for your trial SIM card and just use the free line. Do note that you may need a second phone, as your current number will still be active.

What do you get with Circles Switch?
– 20 GB of data
– 100 minutes of incoming and outgoing calls
– 20 SMSes

And if you do not wish to continue Circles.Life, all you have to do is to cancel the Circles Switch number that you are holding before 31 Dec 2017 in the CirclesCare app and there will be no charge.

However, after the last day of the year, if your plan is still active, your current number will be automatically transferred to Circles.Life network. This will also means your line with your current telco will be automatically terminated once your port in.

My experience with Circles Switch

I signed up for a temporary number with them on the 30th October 2017 and guess what? My SIM card was delivered to my doorstep the very next day! Do note that you will need your IC as a form of identification when you receive the SIM card from the courier. I followed the steps that were in this step-by-step guide and it didn’t take me more than 5 minutes.

I would definitely give them 2 thumbs up for their efficiency! Circles.Life, thank you for making things easier for us!

No more long queues at the telco stores anymore! Best thing is I don’t even have to pay a single cent for my SIM card. Hehe.

I have heard mixed comments about Circles.Life from friends and through my research online, so I’m glad I’ll be able to test it out for myself with Circles Switch. My experience with them is SO FAR SO GOOD. No lagginess or lack of signals issue for the last 2-3 weeks. If you are happy with the telco, there is no reason not to port over. If you’re not satisfied with the experience, you can also follow the instructions here to terminate.:

I’m considering porting over early to get the full plan. Circles Switch doesn’t offer users other awesome features like customization of my plan and boosts (data top-ups).

I shop online SO SO much more than I shop on ground because of all the promo codes and exclusive online sales. But having said that, I still love shopping both online and offline! Haha. What’s more, I love my surprises!! Hehe.

Adulting is hard when it comes to responsibilities and future planning. I would like to say that almost nothing about adulting is fun unless you enjoy the process. However, DBS just made banking less stressful by revamping their Novel “cafe and branch” at Plaza Singapura.

Although it is a “cafe and branch concept”, don’t worry, you can still expect the same high-quality banking and lifestyle services from DBS!!

The first thing you can see and smell once you step into the branch is the aroma of freshly brewed coffee from bettr Barista – a social enterprise supported by the DBS Foundation. I have also heard about plans for monthly latte art and coffee appreciation classes with DBS from the founder of bettr Barista. I bet all most of the coffee lovers out there are looking forward to this!

I really really REALLY love how hip the entire place looks. Take a look at the cash withdrawal and deposits machine. Does it make you feel as though you are in London withdrawing cash?

James, who is more into tech-y stuffs was naturally attracted to the VR corner for his retirement planning. Let’s just put it this way – no more boring surveys, no more time consuming Q&As just to know how to work towards your retirement lifestyle.

Pepper, the robot will be there to introduce you to the Video Teller Machines (VTMs). At any point of them when you feel lost at the VTMs, you can get help through the live video conference with the staff, which is a feature of the VTM. It actually provides you with non-cash banking service like issuance or replacement of internet banking tokens or debit cards.

I personally like this service a lot because I rely very heavily on my bank token and debit cards. Should I accidentally lose either of it and I need to replace it immediately, I do not have to wait for the bank to open just to get a replacement.

Fun fact: There are currently 13 VTMs in Singapore and you can expect 7 more by the end of 2017.

My Lasik Journey With Shinagawa Eye Centre

Since all of you have been “bugging” me with my lasik surgery. Here you go!

As this is not a sponsored post, please do not expect discount codes from me. So many people have been asking me for discount code but I paid for the surgery myself.

The reason why I have decided to go for lasik is because I have been traveling quite a bit for the past 2 years and of course, that includes staycations. I find it a hassle to pack my spectacles and contact lenses (I wear dailies) everytime I travel/ have a staycay.

More often than not, I find my eyes getting drier and drier after wearing my contact lens for more than 10-11 hours. And what does this means? I have to make my way home before 9pm if not it will get really uncomfortable for my eyes.

I am a super scaredy cat because I am very paranoid about everything that has got to do with knives and anything invasive. I spent a lot of time googling and researching about the clinics in Singapore and I shortlisted two. I even went for pre-lasik assessment at two different clinics before settling on Shinagawa Eye Centre.

In my HONEST opinion, the pre-lasik assessment at Shinagawa is really affordable! Only $22 for the entire assessment! You can also hop by if all you want is just a thorough eye check. And in any case if you are not suitable for lasik, tell yourself, it is only $22. The nurses there are also super friendly and attentive. I kept asking how my results were after every machine check. lol!

I was super happy when Dr. Lee Sao Bing told me that I am suitable for Intralase Lasik at his clinic! You don’t know how many good reviews I have heard about him both online and offline. Some of my friends got their lasik done by him too! I immediately booked my lasik surgery date after the consult and it was only one week apart.

I swear I was freaking nervous the night before the surgery. I woke up at 5am, 6am and 7am and all the way till 9. Lol! I even asked the nurses at the counter if it is going to be painful or anything. They laughed and told me that I worried too much. Their lasik were also done by Dr. Lee and it was painless! Haha.

Yup, Dr. Lee recommended me the Intralase method (with Flap) and boy, I was glad I went ahead with this!

Some other methods are just good for people with high or low eye power but Intralase method is good for people with both high and low eye power! My eye power was at -3.50 per eye.

Why do I strongly recommend Intralase Method (speaking from personal experience):
– Quick recovery
– Painless
– Short procedure time

I was still hyperventilating during the procedure but it was so quick that before I could realize that it was done, IT WAS ALREADY DONE. Dr. Lee sure has his ways of making me feel assured and distracted – distracted from the procedure but focused on the lights. Haha.

Believe it or not, I walked myself out of the operating theatre without any assistance! The entire procedure took less than 1 minute per eye. Most of the time were spent on preparation and checks.

The surgery was separated into two parts:

Cutting of flap
Laser

Dr. Lee told me to head home immediately after the surgery and sleep it off. Me being me, I went to get some food before heading home. Yes, I could walk myself to ION Food Hall from the clinic at Wheelock to get some food right after the surgery. I wasn’t even in pain at all. Pain score? ZEROOOOOOO. (P/S: YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GO HOME STRAIGHT OK. DON’T BE LIKE ME. I WAS JUST TOO HUNGRY.)

I fell asleep once I got home and woke up in the middle of the night to realize that I WAS HAVING CLEAR VISION ALREADY OMG. That feeling was…. indescribable. After wearing spectacles for nearly 13 years…. I can actually wake up to clear vision 7 hours after the surgery.

I was also given 3 days of MC and advised to rest at home but I thought, since I have to go back to the clinic the very next day for the review, I might as well head to work since my vision was super clear already. No one believed me when I said I could go back to work the very next day.

During the review, I told Dr. Lee how amazed I was with the results, I could see the joy in his eyes too. He felt me. He felt how happy I was. You know that feeling? At that very instant, I felt that going Shinagawa Eye Centre for Intralase Lasik was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Both the Dr and Nurses told me that I have to constantly keep my eyes hydrated because dry eyes can cause regression and I finished 1 box of eyedrops in 3 days. That was how paranoid I was. I don’t want my money to go to waste.

A week later, I went back to the clinic for my review and I was told that my eyesight is perfect! I don’t even have -0.25 (CHOY CHOY CHOY). Both eyes were 0.00 HEHEHEHE.

Next, who doesn’t appreciate a bit of cost savings? There are having different promotions for most of the eyewear brands and the discount can go up to 30% off the usual retail price! WOOT!

This is on top of the fact that their prescription glasses are priced relatively cheaper than some of the other optical shops we visited.

Lastly, not forgetting the friendly and helpful staff! I would gladly give 3 stars for their customer service! The explanation was thorough and clear. We didn’t even have to ask much questions to get our spectacles fixed that day.

Also, despite the endless flow of customers in and out of the store, I managed to pick up how meticulous their staff can be. One of the staffs was able to recognize a customer despite it being only her second visit which we found out later on after they struck up a conversation.

Without a doubt, they are going to thoroughly look after your needs in this shop! Isn’t that exactly the epitome of customer service!

What went behind James & Maybeline’s Proposal

I know I should have started working on this post for the longest time but I just can’t find the time to sit infront of my desktop every night.

How it all began:

We had a staycation at The Quincy Hotel and everything felt normal because we have staycation reviews very frequently. The only different thing was I had an event to attend that evening and will be away for 3 hours.

Obviously, I felt guilty because it was a staycation but I had to leave him alone so a very good brother, TJ, accompanied him throughout. Little did I know that they were just putting on an act.

He sent me to Casio Headquarters to gather with the other influencers as the meeting point was quite near our hotel. We then left the place, dressed in bridesmaid dresses. He kept joking about us looking like Jie Meis for someone’s wedding. I guess he was kind of dropping hints already? Me being me, was oblivious of the words and more concern about my shoes. I had wanted to wear heels but I picked comfort over beauty.

AND THAT WAS WHY I LOOKED SO TAK-MATCH IN THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS 🙁

NOW I REGRETTED! I SHOULD HAVE WORN HEELS INSTEAD.

We left in a Limousine Party as it was Casio TR80 Limousine Party! I heard that it was a great hit in Japan and Casio is a Japan brand soooooo… the lucky us were quite privilege to try it! There were a few “stations” where we had to alight and take photos from Chijmes, National Gallery to this and that. They told me they will drop me off at my hotel after the event so obviously I didn’t suspect anything.

When we alighted back at the hotel lobby, I was busy looking for medication for Xinyi because of her headache so I did not even notice anything. It was also pretty normal for her to hold my hand because we are girly like that.

Who knows, as we started to walk down, I began seeing 1 or 2 familiar faces. Still nothing much yet until I saw James. The spotlight was turned on and there…. you can continue watching the story below:

Still…. don’t judge me. I know the shoes are pretty ugly…… 🙁

After everything, I realized the day itself was a beautiful lie. He had been planning for this months back. I don’t even have a single clue about it because he was with me almost every day – except for one when he had a conference to attend. The conference was fake too. He went out for a final meeting with his team.

There are a lot of people I want to thank here but I am most most grateful to TJ and William. William brought his lights from the office for him and he even held the light throughout for our photo taking session. TJ, for being a good liar, making me angry, happy, angry and happy again. He was so stressed throughout the planning and even after the proposal because I gave him quite a hard time on the video LOL.

All in all, I feel truly blessed and I am not sure what have I done to deserved all these. Thank you love, for getting our family members and friends down. (He forgot to ask my BFF along because he felt it was quite packed already 🙁 aahhhh). Nonetheless, thank you each and every one of you for the blessings.
