Review of Scalp Treatment by Chez Vous Hair Salon

As some of you guys have already noticed, I have changed salon! As much as I do miss the last one, I certainly feel privileged working with this extremely underrated Luxury Hair Salon in Singapore : Chez Vous Hair Salon.

Located in the heart of Orchard Road (Ngee Ann City, #05-05), this at least 2 decade old salon does not look anywhere near ancient. In fact, it is looking ever more stunning as time flies which only reflect how well they fare through times.

Exterior of Salon

If not for this intriguing display wall of hair products & brightly coloured hands, I would have mistaken it for a chic-looking café?

You must be wondering why these hands & not hair instead?

This also brings me to the very first reason why they could do well despite the notoriously exorbitant rental cost in Orchard. As what the Brand Director for Chez Vous, Eugene, humbly shared,’ It is to remember the hands which have carved Chez Vous’ success, constantly reminding us that success was not built overnight nor alone!’

As a customer, I sure am touched by this notion. So much so, I want to not only give my hands but also my hair willingly to their hair stylists!

Interior of Salon

As said, I would have mistaken this salon for a café simply because of this inviting corner: the HYDRA BAR.

I was enticed not just by the simple yet pretty setup of this Bar but more importantly, the AROMA from a good selection of Laudaree Teas & organic nibbles! This corner is built for early customers like me on the first day of my appointment! How thoughtful of them!

However, sadly I did not stay there for long as I was simply too busy trying to get more of the salon. Hence, I chose to embark on a tour further into the salon!

Main Salon Area

The 30-seater interior is tastfully revamped with aesthethic elements comfortable to customers’ eyes under the good lightning within the salon. One of the most noticable of them all is the handsomely-pannelled wood sculpture artowrk that forms a man’s face that transforms with expression according to the viewers’ perspective !

Be sure to catch ‘him’ during your visits!

I love the way they conceptualized the salon into different clearly defined “zones” such that customers are well aware where they are dwelling into.

Apart from the HYRDRA BAR & the main hair cut area, they have these COCOON DOMES which houses customized treatments for those who seeks a more private pampering session!

This was also where I had my first hair cut. I couldn’t ask for a more conducive corner than this!

Hair Treatment – ‘Amplified Scalp Treats X Non-invasive Laser Therapy’

Apart from a ‘Hair Cut + Wash’ by one of their Hair Directors, the treatment I did was their Latest Top-notch hair treatment : ‘Amplified Scalp Treats X Non-invasive Laser Therapy’ targeted at reducing hair loss and promoting hair growth.

The session started off with a detailed ‘Scalp Analysis’ by their Hair care Expert before she recommended the most appropriate hair treatment for my scalp.

The privacy in the COCOON DOME did served me well as I felt I could air my hair concerns more openly without being overheard by other customers.

Before Photo of my Scalp (Notice the oily layer covering my scalp which threatened to block my hair follicle for good).

Also, the results from the Scalp Analysis are kept confidential behind blinds such that any bypassers will not be able to pry into our private space for discussion.

The COCOON DOMES are not the only private ‘zones’ in Chez Vous. They have somewhere even MORE private: the WOW Private Room. This provides sanctuary for the most discerning of customers while they get their hair pampered from root to tip!

There are more that goes beyond this special room apart from its colorfully-stylish interior!

Remember the hands at the front of the shops which pay tribute to their old time customers??

This room is also specially reserved to do complimentary hair cuts for those old time customers who stayed as long as this salon has been established. What a commitment & sincerity towards their loyal customers!

I was anything but bored in this salon as they even have in-seat Entertainment gadgets, magazines, tea& nibbles to help me pass that few hours easily!

Despite being occupied, I still have some time to spare for a selfie as the therapist do a thorough cleanse of my scalp.

If you feel I look refreshed in here, it is simply because of the therapist’s Indulgence Massage as she applied those scalp care products onto my head. Don’t underestimate this step because it all goes hand in hand to stimulate blood circulation & thus hair growth! It also helped to alleviate my whole week of work stress! KUDOS to the therapist’s strong fingers!

Next came the wash in the whimsical ‘SPLASH’ zone! This is simply their wash bay.

I was bedazzled by their wash bay. Apart from the infinity mirrors, the most bedazzling was the artistic ceiling of different coloured towels which seeks to mimic hanging leaves on a tree! It gives you that therapeutic feeling during the hair wash.

Furthermore, I must say one of the biggest highlight of this salon is their Wash bay Chairs; they have the MOST MOST comforatable seats I have ever sat on! It was said that these wash bay seats goes a long way back with the salon. That explains the plasters around some of the chairs! More importantly, they can no longer be found anywhere else in Singapore.

Following on, the therapist use electrical current & purifying oxygen molecules to exfoliate and eliminate harmful dandruff. Thus, further helping to promote blood circulation so as to stimulate scalp follicles.

Customers with oily scalp like me will be pleased to know that the micro-current aid in balancing sebum secretion as well!

Lastly, comes the Regenerative Laser Light Therapy.

This is a non-surgical, clinically-proven approach to renew and rejuvenate your scalp.

One of the common questions I was asked was if it felt hot or uncomfortable? I can only say don’t be deceived by the intimidating red lights. I felt almost nothing during the entire laser process.

In fact, studies have shown that out of 2 in 3 patients who received regular low light therapies as such, manage to successfully stop hair loss. Even more so, more than 1 in 2 experienced the benefit of hair growth!

After Photo of Scalp Analysis :

Notice the layer of oil is cleared, leaving my hair scalp clean. Even the previous ‘white dots’ which signifies the presence of blockage to my hair follicles were also cleared thus allowing the possibilities of hair growth again!!
It felt as though my head can ‘breathe’ better!

Even the layer of oil on my strands of hair was totally removed after this treatment!

Hair Cut By Oscar Lee

Hair treatment services isn’t the only forte in this Salon. Hair Cut by their Associate Salon Directors also share in that limelight! Let me proudly introduce to you the Magic Hands behind my new Hairdo: Oscar Lee! Oscar has years of experience in styling hair so much so he knows exactly what hair style suits you best!

Do keep a lookout for him in the salon !

Thank you Chez Vous Salon for keeping my hair in good shape & allowing me to present my best self in every social events I attend!

Pricing

Amplified Scalp Treats X Non-Invasive Laser Treatment starts from $320 per session.

Good news for first timers, trial price is $220, 2-hours, Includes Complimentary Scalp Diagnosis (as shown above).

ASUS ZenFone Zoom’s Camera Review

This is my FINAL and the MOST important post for the ASUS ZenFone Zoom! This is because I will not only share but also do a comparison on its unique selling feature: the 13MP rear-facing camera with 10-element Hoya 3x zoom lenses and Optical Image stabilization to deliver that good DSLR-like images!

From a technical perspective, I must say it is pretty fascinating viewing how this “built-in” lenses work its magic on my lifestyle photos!

Why “built-in”? This is because you will never see the lenses leave its protective housing when you are doing a zoom in! If you take a deep stare into the lenses, you could actually see the lenses moving into place to give you up to 3x optical zoom!

Doesn’t the phone look great without any protruding lenses when you are zooming in!

The exquisite-looking back casing seats well with any branded daily necessities !

Before I proceed to share the images taken with the ZenFone Zoom, let me set a disclaimer: All photos shared below are raw which means they are neither edited nor filtered!

With that said, let me jump in to share how amazed I am with the quality of the images taken! In fact, AMAZED is an understatement!!

Despite the low light condition (taken during evening time approximately 5pm), notice how punchy the colours of the image is!

I attempted to take the same picture with my IPhone 6. In the end, the picture appeared too grainy and dark.

Now, let’s take a look at the quality of the images taken after zooming in!

Standing at almost the same distance away with 1x zoom-in!

I was expecting the picture to have a lower resolution, however, the resolution is not very much affected. In fact, the details are very much retained!

Even at 3X optical zoom by zooming in all the way (below), the object in focus maintain most of its level of sharpness and details (just see the details on my coat fabric)!

One minor yet noteworthy feature which makes photo-taking with the ZenFone Zoom a pleasant one is its quick focusing speed. Living in a fast pace society like Singapore, we like everything to be fast and efficient! Good thing that there is hardly any delay in the zooming in and out!

Moving on to the ZenFone Zoom’s Camera App, it is extremely well-designed with 18 shooting modes namely HDR, Beautification, Super Resolution, Depth of Field, Effect, Panaroma, Slow Motion and more. For those who enjoys exploring pictures in different perspective, the ZenFone Zoom is definitely a fine consideration for you as there isn’t any smartphone that offers this many shooting modes currently in the market!

Personally, one of the most useful mode is the ‘Smart Remove’ which remove any moving objects during the shoot! Imagine how this comes in handy when people try to photo-bomb you ! They almost 100% going to fail as the camera will detect them moving and delete their existence from the picture!

For the professional photographer, there is a quick toggle switch for ‘Manual‘ mode placed just next to the shutter button. This allow you to set your own setting instead of relying on the camera’s auto-intelligence.

In addition, there is another quick toggle switch for ‘Low Light(3M)‘ condition. Because of this, it took me less than 3 seconds to find the best setting to snap during the low light evening period! Should the natural light gets any dimmer, the powerful dual-LED flash would come in handy. However, the drawback is that this flash is useful only for short distances!

Comparison of a Digital Camera VS ASUS ZenFone ZOOM

Digital Camera:

ASUS ZenFone ZOOM

Asus has done a commendable job with the design and build of this phone, thus making it the ideal phone for any of your social function.

For the image quality, you would not expect it to be similar to that of a DSLR but it does deliver a decent level of detail, colour and resolution thus making it the best in the class for smartphone camera!

Arteastiq – Launch of New ‘High-Tea Set’ & ‘4-Course Dinner’

For those who frequent Mandarin Gallery & enjoy exhibiting their artistic flair over a nice cup of Tea, ‘Arteastiq’ should sound very familiar to you. If it doesn’t, you have probably missed out on the best Boutique Tea lounge in Singapore where you get to appreciate both concepts of Art and Tea at the same time!

As much as M & I would love to pit our artistic talent against each other at the Art Jam Studio (situated right next to the Tea House), that night certainly wasn’t the best night for that! This is because we had an EVEN MORE interesting agenda installed for us: the ‘Arteastiq’s Menu Launch’ which comprised of an all new ‘High-Tea Set’ & a ‘4-Course Dinner’!

While waiting for the meal to be served, we couldn’t help exploring some of their popular ‘Fruit Teas’ which they are best known for! One of our favourite was their ‘Pomelo Tea’ served with deliciously-crunchy chocolate biscotti which is presented in an elegant fashion.

Its refreshing and mildly sweet taste woke both my palates and lethargic mind up after a day of hard work!

With that, we were all ready to embrace their new ‘High-Tea Set’ which is served in a dainty, bird-cage lookalike 2-teir platter. Forming the top teir is the ‘Sweet’ morsels while ‘Savoury’ for the bottom. All these are the creative ‘artwork’ of Artestiq’s very own Executive Chef, Chef Firdaues Nasir. Kudos to him!

Top Teir (Sweets): Matcha Cheesecake (served with Cookies crumb, Matcha Mousse and Mixed Berries Coulis), Pineapple Upside-Down Cake (served with Caramelized Pineapples, Vanilla cake & Maraschino Cherries), Chocolate Truffles (Valrhona Dark Chocolate Ganache, Chocolate powder & Macadamia Nut) and Salted Egg Macaroons (Coffee Macaroons shell and Salted Egg Custard)

Bottom Teir (Savoury) : Vol Au Vent (Mushroom Capers Pate, Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Arugula Spears), Panini Morsi (Toasted Brioche, Pommery Mustard & Foie Gras), Smoked Salmon (Fried Shallots, Cream Cheese Mousse & Micro Salad) & Viva Duck (Smoked Duck, Arugula Salad, Horseradish Mayo & Tortilla Wrap)

It was certainy hard to make a decision which teir was better!

But I shall be fair! The ‘Savoury’ satisfied my tongue (the palates) while the ‘Sweet’ did it for my sweet tooth! Lol! All in all, this constituted my happy grin that whole night~

One of the morsels that left a deeper impression in us was the ‘Matcha Cheesecake’! It may not look anything much like a typical cheesecake, but it sure taste better than most I have tried for far! The cheese and matcha flavours blended together nicely without seeking to overpower each other. In addition, this dessert also play around with our sense of hearing. Taking a bite upon the mixed berries coulis give that tingling, cracking sound as if you were chewing on rock sugar. Only much lesser sweeter! Not forgetting , the cookies crumb leave a nostalgic ‘oreo’ aftertaste at the end of it!

The portion may not look much for two but it did took our stomach by surprise! Both of us were almost full!

This ‘High-Tea Set’ which comes with 2 beverages (each cost approx. $10-11) and 2-teir platter worth of morsels cost $48++. It is definitely more than enough to last a couple for the whole afternoon of heart to heart talk!

Next came the ‘4-Course Dinner’ which comprises of…

..Alantic Dance – Octopus Salad. The highlight of this dish is its freshly- & well-sautéed octopus which is hearty yet light in palate! Furthermore if you think the ‘fireworks’ just ended with ‘Matcha Cheesecake’, then you are absolutely wrong! This dish came with a pinch of popping candies served at the side for those who prefer a hint of sweetness in their salad!

..Mermaid’s Blush – Pan Seared Snapper. The name says it all! Savouring this would just make anyone blush in excitement! This is probably the closest you can get to a Mermaid!

…& last but not least, my topmost favourite Savoury dish for the night! This is none other than their ‘The Fawn and the Wilderness – Venison Sirloin‘.

For those who does not know what Venison is, check up the dictionary!

*Hint: Doe a….., a female …..

This is my first encounter with Venison and I must say it is a All Love & No Hate relationship! This is despite the fact that the dish is more ‘bloody’ as compared to a typical beef steak. Reason being which, the deer spend more time jumping around and hence a more vibrant capillary system.

*Ops, did I just leak the answer?*

For those who love beef, you are definitely going to love this even MORE!

To finish off the ‘4-course Dinner’, we had what I called the ‘Lourve Musuem’ of Arteastiq or rather in Arteastiq’s definition, the ‘Mount Etna’s Peak’!

My love for premium dark chocolate just extended after having this sophisticated cocoa-based dessert! Cracking the crisps chocolate triangle revealed a hidden treasure lying within: An avalanche of Chocolate Mousse!

Feeling the *Cocoa-Rush* even upon the reminiscence of this dessert!

The ‘High-Tea Set’ and the ‘4 Course Dinner’ sure gave a breathe of fresh air to the family of Art & Tea! They are generally great sets to spend half your day off for!

Re-VOL-ution of 5 Door Hatch – Volvo V40 Car Review

New fun and vigor was DRIVEN into our recent weekend courtesy of Wearnes Automotive! In a nutshell, we “traded” our cars for perhaps one of the most fun-to-drive and sleekest-looking hatches in the market now!

Why Cars Matter to Both of US

To close friends & family, they know what a car truly means to US despite the hefty COE hurdle.

This is because of the interminable commitments we hold from our own full time work to attending back-to-back lifestyle events peppered across the island after work. This continues on even during our ‘free’ time on weekends. In fact for my job as a Business lead, I need to travel frequently on a daily basis to hold important business discussions around town.

Because of all these commitments, personal transport forms an integral part of our life to help us manage all the happenings in our life. Hence, we do appreciate a fun, swift, comfortable, sleek-looking car that can fetch us relentlessly from day to night and from work to prestigious lifestyle events!

Collection Point & Exterior

This time around, the car brand we engaged in has long-recognized with safety as their middle name: Volvo!

If you still stick to traditional thinking that safety is all there is to Volvo cars while compromising on the fun drivability & sleek look, you might wanna think again after this post.

The first car that greeted us at the showroom (located at 249 Alexandra Rd, 159935) with its sharp suit was exactly the one we will be driving off in: the V40 T2!

This foxy-looking, sharp suit comprised of a long bonnet that is kept low with a wide, mesh grille complimented by that proud Volvo badge on the nose of the V40 T2! Flanking two ends of the grille are two automatic headlights while LED Daytime Running lights are available in the higher line ‘R-Design’ specs.

Nonetheless, we immediately fell deep in love with its exterior looks! This is exactly the car we want to drive to and show off at all our events! Haha!

One of the Key(literally) features we recognized on the V40 T2’s exterior is this Keyless Entry which can be conveniently activated with the slightest touch at all four doors! I find this a plus point in relativity to as my own Japanese 2.0L luxury executive sedan which only have keyless entry on the front two doors.

This makes it easier and faster to access the back seats of the car be it to put in or fetch thing out!

We thought no colour on the body of V40 could outdo this shade of Flamenco Red. We were proven when we received our weekend test drive car in its “Flamingo Red” suit (below)! In all respect for subjectivity, this colour will keep growing on you!

We already had a plan in mind for its first stop: Bring it to one of our posh lifestyle events located at the Dempsey Hill ! Let’s see how it blend in with the air of luxury and old world charms of Dempsey Hill!

The dashing, gentlemen look could not be fully completed without the presence of this sleek hot hatch!

Retractable side view mirrors upon locking of the car accompanied with ground lighting & tilt function.

The back of the V40 T2 with its signature curvature lining the rear lights. Comes with a useful ‘Rear Park Assist’ to give accurate gauge of distance from the car behind it.

A reasonable boot space for a hatch which can easily fit 6-7 big bags of clothes!

Wheels: 16” Alloy wheels, Matres, well supported with Michelin tyres of the profile 205/55 R16.

For the SECOND day, I wore something more sporty and casual. Even better, one that matched the exterior colour theme of the V40 T2! From the Premium, exquisite look coupled with my bespoke outfit a day before, NOW the V40 has transformed into a sporty-looking hot hatch to fit my second day’s #OOTD (hashtag with abbreviation for ‘Outfit of the Day’)

Just love how versatile the exterior fits the driver in ALL occasion!

Drivability

Just a simple comment on the drivability of V40 as we make our way to Dempsey Hill: These wheels combined with both the Front suspension with spring struts (McPherson) and Active multi-link independent rear suspension to give comfortable, minimal thumps over bumps.

The suspension is not too stiff. In fact, I rate it better than my own ride. Wind roar is also nicely suppressed but there can be a slight tinge of road noise when the road surface becomes particularly bad.

Generally, I feel Volvo has tuned the V40 T2 engine to pump out a lot of torque from low revs, achieving a 220Nm @ 1,600-3,500 rpm. Together with a 1.5L Turbocharged engine, these gave a great impact to its drivability!

On big stretches of expressway, it becomes apparent that the V40 T2 could easily swallow vast distances with sheer ease. Whereas on busy small lanes, it makes me feel I could zipped past any cars effortlessly with its perky, responsive 6-speed automatic transmission!

All in all, I will give its drivability a good 4/5 rating.

Interior

The dashboard looks expensive, nicely complimented with full leather upholstery and a wide array of function buttons. Most of these buttons are convenience features such as the Engine Start/Stop button & the Keyless Start button where the car whispers into life at the push of it!

Steering wheel-mounted stereo controls and Cruise Control option. Another favourite feature I like about this car is its light but surprisingly-crisp steering!

A trademark feature of Volvo cars is this signature centre Control Panel which spans a series of control buttons eg. Electronic Climate control (ECC) with pollen filter (allow you to c,

Back space may not be super spacious but it has more than enough head and legroom to accomodate 3 adults at the back comfortably. The difference from V40 backseat to other sedans out there is their seat. Don’t you think it looks like the seat in front too?

The interior is also spruced up with two-tone leather upholstery

This includes a City Safety system, which can stop you running into the car in front in stop-start traffic.

Other Features

V40 T2 tempts with a suite of premium features, including start/stop feature, cruise control with nifty steering-mounted switches, Bluetooth hands-free phone connection and Volvo’s range of active and passive safety systems.

An upmarket hatch that is giving its equivalent German rival a run for their money with its good looking inside out, torquey, remarkable control on the road.

If you want your V40 to look and feel sportier there’s the R-Design spec, which adds larger wheels, more aggressively styled bumpers, front sports seats and fancy digital instruments.

Alternatively, there’s the Cross Country version, which has a more rugged look.

..is definitely an understatement for this car!

Volvo also matches Audi and Volkswagen in offering a warranty that lasts for three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first

JamesnMaybel’s Bali Adventure Trip with Casio FR100

If 2016 is a 365 page book, I would think JamesnMaybel has already penned down an exciting first chapter by being part of Casio’s Project: To review their latest FR100 camera in Bali!

But before I begin, let us set three important disclaimers. One to fully credit the pictures & another to prove our objectivity in reviewing this camera.

1)All photos are NOT edited (aka #nofilter in IG term) & FULLY taken with the Casio FR100.

2)No payment nor sponsorship of FR100 was exchanged for this project.

3)All opinions are made solely based on our own experience – JamesnMaybel.

With that said, now you are all set to click your way through this post as though you were also on this Bali adventure with JamesnMaybel + Casio crew!

Why Bali? What better place to review the FR100 other than Bali with its myriad of exciting outdoor activities! In fact, some of the activities we engaged in are definitely ready to put the camera to its TOUGHEST durability test yet. In terms of the extremity, let’s just say some bruises were inflicted upon our limbs during these activities which took more than a week to heal! *Sob*

So, was the FR100 able to prove itself to be as tough as its sister brand, the G-Shock? Let’s see ><

How can we go Bali without a single picture of its beautiful beaches! So let me start the post with my most satisfied photo of the peaceful beach at Crystal Bay!

Why am I satisfied?

Simply because we managed to still capture this landscape picture clean, clear and most importantly in HIGH resolution despite of the difficult condition we faced that day due to strong lighting. No conditions is ever too difficult for the FR100 to handle with its facelifted engine & lens! Good for those who are camera/photography newbies, this is simply a quick cheat to show off your photography skills with the pictures taken by the FR100! ><

Activities done to test the camera:

1. AVT Ride (@ Bali Quad Discovery Tours)

First day was all about beaches & high resolution landscape shots. The real adventure came on the second day with the AVT Ride being the first challenge for the FR100!

First, let me show you the standard ‘Casio-Approved’ stance we took to snap most of our shots during this trip: Shot Free-Style (With the camera lens at the tip of a selfie stick while controlled close to you)!

Truth be told, I used to sneer at the sight of selfie sticks but the versatility of FR100 combined with a selfie stick just proved me all wrong! Detaching the camera from the controller makes for a more advanced free-style camera which allow us to creatively snap our selfies/wefies!

See our Epic 360 ‘Trusurround View’ shot taken on our  AVT ride!

Combined with its 16mm (35mm film equivalent) SUPER W-I-D-E-angle lens, this allows for easy capture of the magnificent outdoor as natural backdrop! Outdoor shooting never been this fun till we got hold of the FR100!

On the flip side, it is so wide, I find it hard to not get photobomb sometimes! Grrr!

One other versatile & creative way we snap our AVT ride experience was to mount the camera lens onto the front of the vehicle which continuously took videos of us going up and down the bumpy mountains!

This is just 2 of the 6 ways we manipulated the FR100 to create a wholesome gallery of our AVT ride experience. We showcased 2! We shall save the other 4 methods to your creativity! Lol!

Off JamesnMaybel go!

2. Canyon Tubing (@Bali Quad Discovery Tours)

There was hardly any time for us to catch our breadth as we were rushed to the next station after the AVT Ride: the Canyon Tubing!

After passing the ‘Shake’ test, now it is for the ‘Water’ test! How would the FR100 fare in this seemingly perilous environment?

We have absolutely no idea just like J with his worried & clueless face in this picture! Nonetheless, this was his most EPIC picture for this trip as he absolutely love the vibrancy in the ’50 shades of green’ around him as well as the clear resolution of the gushing stream!

Whereas for me, my most EPIC photo just got to be this one below! Capture at the moment when I was busy snapping selfies until I felt a drop!

One moment I was seating on the tubing. Next moment, the tubing was seating on me! Haha! I was fully drenched along with my FR100!

First thought that came to my mind: Is my camera is working?!

The verdict to the Water Test was positive! The FR100 has proved itself to be waterproof! After which, I didn’t spare any moment worrying about the water threat anymore as long as the USB ports are closed!

In fact, I wasn’t the only one capsizing. Even J capsized multiple times & to our amazement, the FR100 remained alive all these while till the end of our tubing session! KUDOS to its water-proof function I must say!

One other good thing J & I agree unanimously was its user-friendly interface! I would say it is almost idiot proof. We took less than 10 minutes to figure all its function! The function buttons were well arranged on the touch screen interface! So we save much time ‘sulking’ OVER navigating around the buttons and instead IN FRONT of the camera (for fun)!

Even after our ‘sulking’ wefies, I still have enough time for my own selfies! Love Casio for being so customer user oriented !

The whole ride was approximately 2 hours long!

You must have thought that after turning on the FR100 for a straight 1 hours of video recording (AVT ride) followed by 2 hours of On & Off ‘Time Lapse’ on th(Canyon Tubing) would have fully flatten the battery! Then you are wrong! Our battery was only 3/4 burnt at this point of time!

With such durable battery life span, I must say it surely does live up to its name to be an Adventurer Camera!

3. Snorkeling (Crystal Bay & Mangrove Point @ Nusa Penida)

For the very last activity before we make our way back to homeland Singapore! One which JamesnMaybel has been waiting most eagerly for: Snorkeling @ 2 of the most highly-raved locations (Crystal Bay & Mangrove Point) in Bali!

At this point of time, the test is more than just ‘Quality of pictures taken’, ‘Durability’ & ‘Waterproof’. This time around, we want to experience all 3 of this qualities put together: How good are the shots taken by FR100 underwater!

Off we go to Crystal Bay first!

FR100 has proven its worth in taking landscape shots, here is the proof it can take nice human wefie shot …

..as well as selfie shot!

*Splash*

Into the clear waters with my FR100 well secured to my life jacket!

Shots delivered by Fr100 for you readers to judge!

My photos were taken without any casing! Do note that we were only on the surface of the water while taking these photos hence this was a good 3-4m away from where we were.

Also, I must say I put my life on the line taking these shots. Firstly, I have very bad motion sickness. To compound the problem, the current on that day was much stronger than usual! Hence, my hands was shaking non-stop!

However, I think the shot was still considered relatively clear (as seen in these two pictures) very much thanks to to improved high level of stabilization in 3-axis for shake that occurs when moved while shooting!

For divers, good news for you! The FR100 can go up to 20m deep if you buy the marine casing!

Other functions of the camera which I love:

-Time Lapse

Like the videos of moving clouds and sunset in shows while the buildings in them remains stationary? You can do this with FR100.

You can record the process of the sun setting with this.

Let me show you an example of a Time Lapse clip.

-Strong Stabilization

I used another camera before and we were going around with the camera. My friend had motion sickness after watching the video so a strong stabilization helps! We recorded some videos during the AVT ride and I will share the videos with you guys soon.

-Photo Collage

You can summarize your day with these functions by rating your pictures in the camera. The higher the rating, the chances of them appearing in the random collage will be higher!

Time to end the post with a glass of refreshing watermelon juice!

Oh! And not to forget mentioning this photo was taken and transferred immediately & conveniently through the ExilimCONNECT. This app makes transferring of photo from the camera to any smartphone a simple task ANYTIME ANYWHERE!

If there is one thing we have to complain about this camera would be its price point! Currently, the FR100 is retailing at SGD699 (not inclusive of equipments for photo-taking e.g. selfie).

We really do love this camera and would certainly hope that the price point come down to a more affordable level especially when we do travel quite frequently. Furthermore, we don’t usually have the luxury of someone taking our wefies with a wide shot of the backdrop for us! The FR100 would be the perfect camera for this task!

Le Spa Weekend Indulgence

Sponsored

Statistics have recently shown that Singapore topped the chart for being world’s most emotionless society and a survey even went ahead to reveal that nearly 9 in 10 Singaporeans are working beyond their official hours. Because of that, i have always been thankful for this very thing called: SPA.

This time around we were invited to one called Le Spa. Couldn’t be more thankful to be able to loosen ourselves at this new spa place. Le Spa is a 24 hour spa that is open daily (even on Public holidays). They have a few branches around Singapore. The one we visited nestles within the neighbourhood of Bukit Timah (16A Chun Tin Road). For those staying within that vicinity now can have a new R&R option 🙂

So glad to be able to relax myself fully over the weekends.

This is one of the many accreditations they have on the ir nicely decorated walls. So are they able to live up to their name?

We were greeted by their friendly staff who took no time to show us into our couple massage room. As we walked to our room, we also take some time to explore the place. Personally, i think the interior is nicely designed and clean. The massage room is simple and cosy.

The masseurs who worked on us were very professional. They were able to coordinate with the strength of our massage as we requested for.

Hence, the end result of me:

See the halo behind me? That explains how rejuvenated i am after the whole session! >< This massage really perk me up for the upcoming busy week!

How about M?

She has always been a light sleeper and it isn’t easy for someone like her to enjoy massage.

Guess who slept through nonetheless! Lol!

Both of us enjoyed that whole experience at Le Spa. So much so, time seems to pass by with a blink of an eye. Time passed fast also partially becuase there is no delay in their services. We did not have to wait long for the massuer to come nor held up by their selling activities (at the end of many typical Spa). Fast in, Fast out but what last is the good impression for this new spa 🙂

Hop over for a 90minutes relaxing massage for $90 🙂 We will definitely be back again!
