Ahoy! Sakura International Buffet

‘AHOYYYYYY!’

That is exactly what the crew from Sakura International Buffet (Sakura) will SHOUT before they serve you their newest flavourful creation, the Seafood in a Bucket (below) which is now available as part of the famous Sakura’s Buffet!

This dish with its generous medley of seafood ingredients starring the live Boston Lobster, is definitely the key highlight when you make your way down to the newly-revamped outlet @ Clementi Woods (Opposite NUS)! So NUS students, tired of food at U-Town, you know where to go to now! ><

Two features of this dish that ought to make you fall head over heels with it – Firstly, when I said ‘Live’, I really wasn’t kidding; the imposing Boston Lobster is LIVE and cooked a la minute, thus locking in all the freshness & goodness. Any fresher, you just got to eat it raw! Secondly, this dish is going to be available in UNLIMTED servings, so go on and gobble those medley of seafood till your hearts’ content!

Personally, I absolutely enjoyed savoring to the pillowy succulence of the lobster meat especially when it is paired with the two aromatic in-house sauces :’Spicy Saucy’ & ‘Classic Garlic Herb Butter’.

So much for kickstarting this post with the Hero dish. However, let’s not forget the other highlights of which some are totally NEW even to those whom have patronized SKURA before this revamp.

Salmon- & Tuna- lovers like me, this is the station to delight you! ‘Fresh’ is definitely not an overrated adjective to be use for the seafood here be it RAW..

..or COOKED!

Apart from the ‘Seafood in a Bucket’, the other thing to really hype about is their DIY stations which is going to whisk patrons away to the heart of Thailand!

*NEW* One of them is the Kuai Tiao Neua (Thai Beef Noodles) station (below) fully complete with beef slices, brisket, bean sprouts, kang kong and noodles for diners to appreciate their own creation of the Beef noodles paired with fish sauce and chilli padi.

*NEW* There is also the Som Tum station which comes with a  selection of coriander and roasted peanuts, among others. These papaya salads make perfect starters. Thirdly, there is also a DIY station for desserts: Belgian waffle making session where diners can make their own savoury or sweet waffles!

The last DIY station most familiar to our fellow Singaporeans’ taste buds : the Laksa Station!

I would like to think of Sakura as the dictionary of cooked food. Here, diners can tuck into an array of cooked mainstays. Amongst them include pizzas..

..Clam chowder with puff pastries, Meats balls, BBQ sausages…

..Satays of different meat, Grilled Beef with black pepper sauce…

..Deep fried Breaded chicken…

..and my favourite cooked food for the night! The freshly baked Egg Tart with Bird Nest,
the Ebi Mentaiko Prawn..

..& Made-to-order Oyster Egg! This is really great especially served hot right out of the wok as the chef cooked right at the back of a glass panel visible to all patrons! I like the fact that it was served with more egg, less flour and hugh oysters! I finished 4-5 plates of this alone that night!

There is also a reasonable range of desserts topped with Fresh fruits to end the dinner!
