Happy Mookata

If you are residing near Sunset Lane (which is near to SIM) and you like the famous Thai Mookata (kinda like steamboat and BBQ), then you are in luck because Happy Mookata is located just around the corner for you!

Mookata originated from Northern Thailand and the stories has it that the soldiers used their helmet to grill the meat thus leading to this Dom-shaped hot pot seen today. For those whom had been to the Happy Mookata at Golden Mile Complex, this is THEM making a statement in the west now!

I like the clean looking Alfresco style exterior and they definitely have more than ample seats and table to house the crowd even on a weekend.

People saying we are looking more and more alike. I am wondering if it is because we had been eating too much of the same food together!

Nvm.. I shall bear with the ‘twins’ look for this worthy Mookata! ><

I like the fact that you get to enjoy all these great food at a MERE $25.90! If you stayed in the Mookata scene long enough, you would definitely agree that this is one of the most affordable Mookata pricing.

You get to enjoy a whole load of fresh food ranging from their own specially-marinated Pork, Garlic Chicken to Black pepper Beef which we couldn’t stop ordering until our fourth plates each. They also have the standard food fare for steamboat eg sausages, butterfish, fish ball, meat balls, prawns etc. I would say they offer quite a good selection of raw food and they are of good quality!

So we kickstarted the meal with the usual first step which is to grease the stove with the Lard oil before grilling the meat! For those new to Mookata, usually 2-3 pieces of the Lard will be placed on the top of the dome-shaped stove while the oil will leak down all over the stove before you start grilling.

For the broth, they use standard chicken stock broth, but good news is the soup get rich very fast because of the meat grease that leaks into the soup.

The beef, chicken & pork slices there were all extremely tasty after grilled!

One other thing I like about eating mookata here is the fact that the place is very well-ventilated, so much so you do not have to worry smelling like the very meat you were grilling at the end of your meal.

Furthermore, the shop is peppered with hardworking and smily staffs which were always more than willing to fetch us more food regardless the number of times they have to do so.

Apart from the raw food, they also have a good range of fried cooked food e.g. All-Time favourite nuggets, popcorn chicken and french fries! So if you are bringing the kids along, you can be fully assured they will have something they like to munch on while you get to enjoy your meal, parents!

One other thing I like from Happy mookata is their Chili sauce with a nice tantalizing taste. Despite the nice marination, I would still dip them into the chili sauce for an extra flavor!

All in all, I enjoyed my food tasting experience with them very much because of the good selection of fresh food & tasty marinated meats, the clean and well-ventilated exterior and topping it off with the great customer service from their friendly staff.

If I need to chill with a bunch of friend staying within the west region, Happy Mookata would definitely be the top of my mind!
