Sm;)e Singapore

According to a recent 2014 study by Ipsos APAC and Toluna, Singaporeans are found to be generally unhappy, with Singapore being rated as the second least happy country in Asia Pacific. Furthermore, our sunny island took another hit lately with the pass on of our beloved forefather, LKY.

In spite of all these, one mall has decided to put that smile back to our nation by launching the Smile Singapore Campaign! For this, Clarke Quay Central has decided to go BIG on this initiative that is held in conjunction with Singapore’s Jubilee celebrations.

So what do I mean by BIG?

The campaign aims to break its own ‘Largest Display of Photos’ record by collecting 10,000 smiling faces of which 5000 will form a giant photo mural. When M & I reached the location, we could already see the cheerful-looking Smile Ambassadors getting busy with pasting the big portraits on the floor of the mall.

Like people always say, ‘Happiness & Smiles are contagious and by displaying the photos of beaming faces, they hope to remind the fellow Singaporeans out there that there is a thousands of reason to smile in Singapore!

I don’t have a thousands of reason to share here but I do have the top few reasons that makes the locals happy as you can see below…

These top 3 reasons came from 2000 respondents who shared their stories of joy in Singapore.

Did any of the reasons tallied with your own one? 🙂

Thereafter, we were taken to the backend scene where we come up close with one of the Sponsors, Fuji Xerox Singapore produce the big photos! In fact, our photos were produced right on the spot for us.

Viola! Here we stand together with our twins!

Moreover, as an event partner of Smile Singapore, Fuji Xerox is also spreading happiness by donating five dollars for every photo submitted until 3rd May to Beyond Social Services to help less privileged families.

From now to 17th May, Clarke Quay will be showcasing the photo exhibits (So those who have send in your photo, you can come down to spot your smiling photo!). For that, you stand to receive a treat from Clarke Quay. The deal gets better if you spent a minimum of $30 at the mall, you get to involve yourself in the SURE WIN Lucky dip!

I think we come to a point, this nation can do with a smile. As what LKY said, At the end of the day, What have he gotten? A successful Singapore. What has he given up? His life. End of the day, success begets happiness and he would definitely want to see more than just a successful Singapore. Definitely also a HAPPY one. So let’s do our part and put a smile on his legacy. Do your part for Smile Singapore!
