The tale of Lim & the ungrateful Meryl
(This is not a romance story)

Fate brought them to the same school, out of so many classes, they ended up in the same class, and out of so many seats, they sat just beside each other.

Just 2 months after school starts, Meryl fell in love and got into a relationship with one of the classmate, which also means that L&M didn’t talk that much as M spent most of her time with her new boyfriend while Lim spent more time with his clique.

Semester 1 ended. Holidays ended shortly after that.

A new school term started. An old surrounding was filled with unfamiliar faces. Friends circle increased while old friends drifted apart. Meryl’s birthday falls on the September. Her boyfriend planned a surprise for her but no one was able to reach school’s area that early just to collect the cake. So Lim helped. He reached there about 7.50am when school only starts at 9am.

At the same time, Meryl’s relationship was very rocky so she confided in Lim. As he did not want Meryl to think too much, he would always ask her to join his clique for lunch and sometimes, their outings. Knowing that she’s sad, he would always crack lame jokes to make her laugh. He, or rather, the clique is always there for her when she’s down.

Within 1-2months, She found a new boyfriend. Again, because of her new boyfriend, she drifted from her friends again, even Lim. When she quarrelled with her current boyfriend, there will always be someone in the clique advicing her. But she literally stopped going to lunch with them. No one blamed her for making use of them. In fact, no one ever felt that she made use of them till recently.

Plans for chalet were made. Meryl was one of first few to say that she will attend the chalet for sure but after a month, she was also the first to say that she can’t attend the chalet.

Before her overseas trip, she was reminded by some people that they will be celebrating Lim’s birthday. She said okay and that she will be there. Today, someone sent her a text to remind her about the day. Amazingly, her reply was “Sry, got date with bf. Can’t make it“. So the someone send her another text, “Wah lau, before you fly off you said can. Now cannot“. Guess her reply? It was “sry, cant make it. you all enjoy“. That someone wanted to scold her off but Lim said he will do the job.

He sent her a very long message but only got a few words back.

“sry, totally forgot about your birthday”

Side[From me to you] :: Eh you think your boyfriend NS ah? 1 week see 1 time? Now holidays, you are free to meet him whenever you want right. There are 7 days in a week, why on that day? Are you only free to meet your boyfriend on that day? Can’t change date? Wow. If you can’t do what you say, then don’t say you can. Twice in a roll. Only turning to us/him when you need someone to talk to. Other than that? Do you really think that Sorry can solve everything? If so, you won’t say anything about JY. Now that you are doing the same thing as her, WHAT CAN WE SAY ABOUT YOU?

You sacrificed your bunch of friends for love. How noble. Don’t ever break up or get dumped by this boyfriend eh? Cause if you ever do, We will be the FIRST few to mock at you. That is to return you for all those that you had gave us.
