Orchard Central Beauty Trail

If you haven’t know, other than being famous for their restaurants, Orchard Central also has a lot of beauty parlors in the shopping mall!

I spent my Monday exploring the malls doing all the different kinds of treatments from body massage, to scalp treatment to facia.

Let me take you through my Monday…

First up, I went to Beyond Beauty for a 1 hour Royal swedish Massage.

They do carry their own in-house beauty products as well.

The therapist did a full body strawberry scrub to thoroughly clean and prep my body for the massage. Oh, I showered under the warm water after the scrubbing session. It was shiokness!

Time for a hot shower.

My body felt fresh and smooth after the scrub. I love body scrub because it can help me exfoliate my skin as all the dead skin cells are rubbed away, leaving the skin soft and smooth.

The Royal Swedish Massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes and massage oil.

Five basic strokes include:

• Sliding or Gliding
• Kneading
• Rhythmic Tapping
• Cross Fiber

I told the lady that I have cramps every single month so she focused on my tummy area more. I was already expecting the time of the month to come within the next 3 days after my visit and she told me that I was in time for this massage as it can help to reduce the cramps. She was really really skillful and knowledgeable. I threw her a lot of questions throughout the treatment and she could answer every single one of them.

The massage itself was super comfortable and results were seen. I don’t know what magic she worked on me. I DID NOT experience any form of menstrual cramps or pain throughout the 7 days of period. It was like, I never had such an easy cycle before!!

For people who experience menstrual cramps like me, the therapist suggests us to do the massage once a month. Not only will it reduce the cramps, it will also help to regulate the flow. Of course, that is not only the benefits for the tummy area. Other areas like the back and shoulders are well taken care of as well. I have small shoulders so I am very prone to backaches especially after hours of heavy duty work like carrying a laptop around Orchard. The massage somehow unclog and relieve the pain on the back! *TOUCH WOOD but I haven’t experience any pain till now.

It can also help reduce joint stiffness and improve blood circulation around the body.

My second stop was Sublime Hairdressing.

As I dye my hair very often, I need to keep my scalp healthy by doing scalp treatment once a month. Unhealthy scalp can lead to hair loss because deterioration of the hair begins with deterioration of the scalp.

My final stop was at FACE+ by Yamano, No.1 facial salon in Japan with more than 90 years history. I love this facial salon a lot because it has a very neat and clean outlook. More importantly, I am quite a sucker for anything that is related to Japanese.

I did their Basic Facial, which is also their signature facial. The facial uses their signature product Doronko White Clay and Moist Clay pack along with their supreme time-tested massage techniques that aids in blood circulation, metabolism, enforcing natural skin’s healing power and also in the suppleness of the skin, retaining it’s elasticity.

I actually fell asleep minutes after the therapist started the treatment. The room was so comfortably warm and her techniques were all soft and gentle.

Their signature facial includes cleansing, clay wash, steam, vacuum, massage and a mask.

I was very relaxed throughout the facial and I felt my entire week of stress being drained away.

I left the place with glowing skin! I was so surprised how can the facial be so gentle yet gives me instant results. Although no extraction was done, the skin also felt a lot smoother. It felt like I do not have to go through the pain of extraction to enjoy smooth skin!
