Qi Mantra

I can’t remember my last visit to Qi Mantra was how long ago but I remembered I had James with me. This time, I am alone and I am back for Qi Mantra Variable Pulse Light (VPL) Hair Removal Treatment.

VPL is the advanced version of the famous Intense Pulse Light (IPL). The differences between them is that VPL allows the intensity to be customized to suit each customers’s preference. For example, someone like me who has very low tolerance will go for the lightest intensity before moving on to try higher intensity.

As VPL can be customized for each requirements, it can target various areas of the body from Brazilian, upper body, lower body and face. Also enjoy skin rejuvenation while removing stubble and ingrown-hairs as various structures in the skin can absorb the light from VPL to improve damage caused by aging and sun.

I gave VPL a try for my underarms. As I only went ahead with one session, I am not able to fully see the results for reduced hair growth but the underarms looked fairer and cleaner.

The whole procedure was quite fast. Other than changing and taking pictures, VPL underarm only takes about 5-10 minutes or even lesser.

The area which you are doing (underarms for my case) will first be shaved to prep for treatment.





Followed by the application of the cool gel. This is to minimize the warm sensation experienced from the pulses of light emitted. Although I must say, it feels more or less the same without the gel. This might be because the area for underarms are quite small and not as sensitive to other parts like Brazilian.





As I was unable to take any pictures of the machine, here is how it goes:

A few rounds of light pulses are then carried out to treat the targeted area. For my underarms, about 3-5 pulses of light were used for each side.

The gel was then wiped off followed by an aftercare cream.





And tadah! I was out of the place in less than 15 minutes.
