Landed safely from Bangkok

How does it feel like to be in Bangkok feeling all happy and then to realize that bombing is actually taking place?

How does it feel to be there at that point of time? You all know that I went to Bangkok on the 13th and was only back on 17th and the bombing took place on the 17th.

I was shocked. Too shocked for words. I was already at the airport when the incident happened. I was lucky because I was at the area in the afternoon and headed back to the hotel and off to the airport shortly after that.

Immediately after I landed late at night, I received over 60 texts (whatsapp and Facebook messages) from 40 over people asking if I am alive and safe. The texts did not stop coming in until I was at work this morning.

I was indeed lucky because I planned to fly back on the 17th night and I chose to fly over on 13th instead of 14th. If I really did decide to fly there on the 14th, I will only be back in Singapore on the 18th. What a close shave.

However, not everyone is as lucky as me. My heart goes out to those who suffered from the incident and even more to my fellow Singaporean who was only 34. Isn’t a holiday supposed to be something happy? Why does it have to end this way?

I don’t get how cruel the bombers can be. Why cause a lifetime sorrows to other innocent parties?

I don’t know if this is the first, but I doubt this will be the last. I guess, it is safer to be back in my little red dot.

Hello Singapore, I am home.
