Traditional Body Therapy @ Imperial Spa
Both of us have been really tired recently. Why so? For me, it has been due to my new career development to management role where now I have to handle a team. For M, it is because of daily full time job which starts as early as 7am! To compound this exhaustion was the increasing events & collaborations knocking at our door.
Hence, this next inviation couldn’t has come more timely than now! So for this time around, we were invited to attend a spa session @ Imperial Spa which is nestled along Bukit Timah Road in between KK Women Hospital & Newton Circus. The day we went was also its official opening day hence the spa was packed with people of all ages & all walks of life. See! We could hardly take a wefie without getting photo-bombed!
We knew this would happen! So guess what we did?
We came 2 hour before the official opening ceremony to try out one session of their couple massage. It was also a better time to snap the peaceful side of the spa before the crowd kicked in! So let me backtrack a bit here on our experience at the spa.
Directly behind the reception was a line of these comfortable looking sofas. Apparently, these were the corner for those who seek their Imperial Foot Therapy. Note something interesting installed on their sofas? Yes, the television! A very thoughtful installation indeed! So now customers get to choose to sleep or enjoy a movie/Tv series or even soothing music while their foot massage is ongoing!
For those that hard to endure the pain or ticklish sensation of foot therapy, I think this also serves as a good distraction. Lol!
Truth be told, the spa isn’t as bright as you see in this picture below. In real, the interior is dimly-litted with the candles seating on top of stone lining the side of the wall. Anyway, from this picture you get a clear picture of how clean & lavishly-decorated the interior is. This is the rest of the first floor if you were to continue to walk in. There are couple of comfortable holding areas for those who are waiting for their partner to finish treatment.
Imperial Spa is a titan on the inside as it is a three-storeyed spa. Now proceeding onwards to the second floor. Guess what is on this level?
The Single rooms! Best place to seek some quality serenity all by yourself 😀 There are approximately 7-9 single rooms. Hence, you are definitely not gonna experience the disappointment of not being able to make an appointment even on a busy day.
However, that is not the room meant for us that day! The room awaiting us was on the third floor: The Couple Room floor. Here, there are two rooms specially allocated for couples. To share a little secret here, it was actually our anniversary on that same day & we have decided to kick start our celebration with this spa visit. A walk into the room proved this to be the wisest choice of all!
It was as if they read my mind & made this special LOVE-ly arrangements for us! So guys, now you know a place to bring your girl to impress her on y’all anniversary or date! ><
Nonetheless, this therapy we had is called the “Imperial Accu Pressure”. Still apt for us because many people have been saying that we look very much alike, so much so like a pair of twins! Lol! U guys think so too from this pic below?

After trying their massage, here’s my short truthful review of this 2-hr long treatment. Firstly, I would like to give credit to the masseurs who tended to us. Not only were they very customer-oriented (consistently checking on us to see if the “strength” was adequate yet not overpowering), but also very skilful in their craft! I could feel mine nailing every acupunture points and soothing the muscle tensions with her firm handworks on my body. What impressed me further was the consistency of this firmness for the whole duration of 2 hours which I can confidently say it definitely gave them a good run for your money & that every dollar of yours well-spent !
Another note-worthy compliment to make is on their add-on therapies of which you can choose from two options: A Body scrub OR a Hot Stone treatment during the 2 hours duration. Guess what! Regardless which you choose, both are FOC! This means you get to include & experience other types of well-known treatments at no additional charges at all! Isn’t this a fantastic deal?!
After the massage, we went down to join in the fun for their official opening before concluding our visit to Imperial Spa that day!
Even God of Fortune also cant resist the temptation to come here for a massage! >< More importantly, recognise the Shell station opposite the road. That will help you locate this spa.

In conclusion, I have been to other spas before but I must say the quality of massage / treatments offered by Imperial Spa is one of the better lot! If I have to pick on them, it is definitely on the fact that the treatment is too short or rather never enough! Certainly looking forward to trying out their other treatments available there: Imperial Accu Pressure, Imperial Swedish, Imperial Javanese & Imperial Foot Therapy all of which comes at an affordable rate!
