Confidence is the new make up because under all those make ups, lies the a bed of skin. Good and clear skin boosts confidence. Good and clear skin also make the application smoother.

You know when you have acnes, or scars, flaky skin and all, it kind of affect the make up a little as you will be able to see spots here and there.

So here I am, sharing with you my latest secret to flawless looking skin. I am currently using Mary Kay MelaCEP Plus+ Ultimate Serum which is said to improve the skin’s overall appearance, leaving it smoother, healthier and more purified.

Some people find serum or essence too rich for their skin. But for me, after almost two weeks of application, I can feel slight differences. I believe with longer application duration, I will be able to see more results.

 

After almost two weeks, I observed:

– Smoother skin
– Brighter skin tone
– A more radiant skin

 

 

MelaCEP Plus+ Ultimate Serum is said to:

– Significantly improves the look of skin brightness, texture and dark spots

So far… I have already seen some of the effects. The serum is formulated and tested on Asian skin and 93% said it helps revive skin’s luminosity, 86% said it evens out their skin tone and 81% said it improves the appearance of discoloration.

Ingredients in the serum:

– Edelweiss extract, algae extract, vegetable amino acid which are capable of delivering powerful whitening benefits

– Hexylresorcinol targets glutathione and the accumulation of pigment on skin’s surface. Glutathione decreases as we age and it can impact melanocytes which are responsible for the appearance of melanin on the skin

– Maritime pine and White birch extracts targets melanin

 

As for the texture, although it looks like it is gelish in color, it has a very watery texture. It also has quick-absorbing formula so it gets absorbed into the skin really quickly before you can even feel anything as you rub the goodness into the skin. Super super lightweight! As for the scent, I could smell nothing at all. This is especially good for people with sensitive skin as scented skincare might cause breakouts for certain people.  It is also clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy.

9 Miracles of Peat!

When the boyfriend was away, I went for a facial with Xinyi with courtesy of belif to experience the 9 miracles of peat!

The Peat Miracle Skincare by belif is finally completed with the new addition of Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate ($85) and relaunching the existing Cream and Eye Cream. Already in the line is their popular belief Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream ($71), Peat Miracle Revital Cream ($84) and Oil Control Moisturizer Fresh ($54).

Peat contains a whole lot of natural goodness from herbs, shrubs, berries and minerals so it is something good for the skin. It has anti-aging and moisturizing properties and at the same time, gentle to the skin. It does not cause outbreak so it is also suitable for people with oily skin.

The green bottles are from the new Peat range.

While the white packaging consists of cleanser, toner, essence and etc. Their star product is the Hungarian Water Essence which increase the skin hydration level by 20%.

All the goodness in a room. As my eyes were closed during the facial, I couldn’t take note of the products used. But the products did NOT give me any sticky feeling, or breakouts.

The face felt more hydrated and plumper after the facial. I like the Peat Miracle Revital Mask that was applied. It is said to help the skin improve its cell regeneration efficiency. But I like the fact that it can tighten sagging pores. I am quite a sucker for skincare that can help tighten pores.

I was having a little breakout on the forehead due to period but yea, here’s my bare face with eye make up on.

The entire facial and massage took 1 hour and I went for the next event feeling more fresh after a good pamper.

 I can’t wait to receive the products for a better review! 🙂

 

Vichy – For my skin type

I am very much in love with Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot. It acts as my lifesaver whenever a pimple pops out. Hot favourite in Women’s Weekly as well!

And then later, Vichy had another new range – Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration.

I am always willing to try out products that boost hydration. Needless to say, I wanted to try this series!

Jolene from Vichy remembered how much I love the Normaderm series, she specially included 2 products from Normaderm for my skin type on top of Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Power Serum.

Don’t you just love it when someone remembers the small details?

Another new product in the Normaderm series (for me) is the Tri-Active Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care.

It has a cream-like texture but lightweight and gets absorbed easily, leaving a matte and powdery texture on the skin. It contains Microparticles of silica which absorbs excess sebum and help to keep skin looking and feeling fresh even after long hours and glycerin which helps to restores water levels in the skin.

Some reviews online also mentioned that the product is able to lighten acne scars.

Now….

Aqualia stands for water. So it keeps your skin hydrated all day long!

Do not ever belittle this small bottle of serum because it caters to the needs of women between 20 to 60 years old with dehydrated skin. People with oil skin can also use this.

The texture was a little greasy at first (probably due to it’s gel-like texture), but as you rub it, it gets absorbed into the skin quickly and leaves your skin smooth and hydrated. It does not leave your skin sticky at all.

I would recommend you to apply it twice daily – morning and night.

This serum is suitable for people living in Singapore (HOT CLIMATE!!) because it is light. So light that you can barely feel it. Apply it before you apply your make up base. Remember, treat your skin right first before you put on anything else!

Other than relying on skincare, remember to drink plenty of H20 daily! 🙂

Lip colour – Laneige

My motto for make up is to never leave house without a lipstick in my bag.

Not sure about you, but I find lip stains as an essential rather than eyeliners; not that I can leave house without the eyes drawn.

Current love is from Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick – LR05 Flash Pink.
I love how it keeps my lips moisturized and coloured at the same time.

Most importantly, not sticky at all! Some essence can be sticky even after rubbing.

Now for the anti-aging series. Photo-Beauty Therapy – ANTI- AGEING Serum.

Likewise, it is easily absorb and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling as well.

It transforms light into cellular energy. Has anti-wrinking and firming action and moisturizes as it contains rose hip oil and vegetal glycerin.

Signs of aging are said to be reduced after 4 weeks of application.

Photo-Beauty Therapy ANTI-AGEING Cream which works the same way as the serum but in cream form. I personally like the serum more 🙂

The brightening range – Photo-Beauty Therapy BRIGHTENING Serum.

It also transforms light into cellular energy and helps regenerate and protect the skin’s DNA. The brightening range also lightens the complexion, anti-dark spot action and moisturizes.

Like the anti-ageing range, it also comes in serum and cream.

Really love this range of products because of its absorbability.

Photo-Beauty Therapy BRIGHTENING Cream.

This cream is slightly stickier as compared to the rest which are not sticky at all.

PPSSST: You don’t need real sunlight to activate the Photo-Beauty Enzyme. It works well with any other artificial light as well and it takes only seconds to be activated.

For example, 1. Apply the product, 2. Walk to the switch and off the light and prepare for bed.

While you’re walking, the enzymes are already being activated. Yes, it’s that fast!
